It seems like the first four Bond films (Dr No-Thunderball) and Casino Royale are the best because they have the highest percentage in the Rotten Tomatometer.

But most of you Bond fans don't care about what the critics have to say, am I right? ;)

    Rotten Tomatoes is a great indicator of what the general critical consensus is regarding particular films, and I sometimes check it if I'm uncertain about seeing a specific film. However, that's all it is. It doesn't define 'best' any more than the elimination game does. It's the same with awards; just because a film wins Best Picture or a book wins the Booker, doesn't make it the 'best.' , the first four and CR are the highest ranked Bond films on Rotten Tomatoes; not the 'best' Bond films.

    BTW, I have to say that this surprises me. I had always thought that FRWL was the critics favourite, with CR earing equal critical praise. To see DN ranked ahead of FRWL and GF isn't something that I would have predicted. Nice though as I sometimes get the feeling that DN doesn't get the praise that I think it deserves.

    I agree you, I think Dr No is one of those unappreciated Bond films that doesn't get enough respect. I was very happy to see Rotten Tomatoes give Dr No the respect it deserves.

    imho another pointless thread.

    Everybody can make his own decision, especially on the Bond movies.
    You seem to have a good nose for potentially controverse threads as most of yours focus on personal preferences of the members here.

    You need to work on your grammar, it's controversial not "controverse" and I'm not trying to sway anybody's opinion. I just wanted everybody to know what kind of score Rotten Tomatoes gave to the entire James Bond franchise.

    I think Rotten Tomatoes aren't that far off. I would have given Thunderball fewer points and more to OHMSS, LTK and QoS, but I find that I agree on very much here.

    I made a mistake Licence to Kill actually has 73 percent.

    I don't really trust RottenTomatoes as to what movies I would like and those I would dislike. How TWINE is the fourth-worst of all Bond films defies believe in my opinion. I was only 10 years old in 1999 but I felt that was one of the best movies I saw that year along with Toy Story 2. I even liked the two worse ones to some extent, though I will admit for AVTAK, Roger Moore's age combined with the lack of creativity (i.e. Zorin spamming UZI rounds in the flooding mine) hurt it. Octopussy wasn't that good but not that bad either. Oh and BTW it was Louis Jourdan's (who played that movie's villain Kamal Khan) 90th birthday yesterday.
