Bond clothing archive

I've been really thinking that the Bond community could really use an information archive...
Information about Bond clothing is scattered across hundreds of threads dating several years, as well as across the minds of various forum members here. It's a shame that there is no centralized source where a person can find out information about a specific suit or tie or shirt from one of the movies. People have pinned down the exact fabric type for certain suits, or discovered really obscure details (I don't think anyone knew the linen suit from TWINE was herringbone until about 8 months ago), and yet most of it has come for a brief moment in time and now exists in the ether somewhere, waiting possibly for someone to search it if they know the exact keyword parameters to dig it up.
I envision something like an open-community wiki where knowledgeable members could 'edit in' all the details they know. Collectively, we could fill a vast archive of info. If not a wiki, then at least a website blog of sorts that can be broken down into categories and updated with relative ease.
EDIT: Here's what's in the works so far: http://bondwardrobe.blogspot.com/

It could be done there
I've been dying for something like this!

Is this something you guys would want to see pursued further? For Craig-era material, something well out of my expertise I imagine I would give others (Monza, Mantis, Asp9mm, etc) admin access to post and edit information on that, should they be interested in contributing. People could also leave comments on the relevant posting, which can then be reviewed and incorporated into the brief.
But this would be more or less my general idea. Details wherever possible, with fabric swatches or pics as a visual guide.

Anyway, this is not even close to a complete list so please don't post "you forgot this" (yet at least), but it should give you an idea of possible categories.

Also, it would be nice if there was a category for grooming. For example, if someone finds out what cologne Daniel Craig wears in real life or facial cream etc, than we can include that section on the spreadsheet too.
If this idea snowballs into just another james bond collecting nonsense website with photos, dead links, and a for profit endeavor. I am not in support of the idea. All corporations start out with noble intentions, and then one day they are like everyone else. Lets keep this idea (a non-for-profit) idea. Very clean website. Not a lot of static.
Best indeed to keep it plain and simple.
Almost so that you could print it out and keep it in your backpocket when you go shopping. Just in case you run in to something...
Perhaps Mantis could be convinced to give us a rundown of what's in his cupboard. That would get the list two-thirds done already....
Yes, this is all very important. I would like to talk to remmert to make sure we would not be stepping on any toes for the bondlifestyle site because I truly love the site and it is super helpful.
As far as just a spreadsheet? I think that may be overkill. Pictures are our best friends when finding props, dimensions, materials, etc so I think some pictures of actual items or screen captures should be permitted. However, they will be regulated, as with the information on the site to ensure accuracy.
The things I would probably like to stay away from are prices, replicas, and discussions. Prices vary so much and there are so many places to get things, that I thing the best sources are google, ebay, ajb, and bondlifestyle. We don't need another site to add to that list. As far as replicas and discussions, thats why we are here on ajb. This site will be a helpful add-on, not a replacement.
And as far as profit, I have been kicking around the idea of personally make a site like this for a while. Therefore I may be willing to from the costs for domain and upkeep. If anyone would LIKE to pitch in, great, but I would never demand it.

Not sure where to take it at the moment, as we seem to be at an impasse as to the direction of where to take this.
I agree with redsleigh - without pictures the value of an archive site would be greatly diminished. I would want more than just a shopping list. This site should also be useful to people who want to get an idea for Bond's style (what type of cufflinks does he wear? What type of tie patterns?), as well as those who may want to take the information and have it replicated by their tailor or whatever. I would like to see it be a multifaceted resource - not solely just for collectors who want to purchase a specific item. To just have a laundry list of brand names - what good does it do to know that the cufflinks in TND were 'AD2000' if they're completely out of print?
Just a thought.
just wondering when will you be updating your site?, and also what are you thinking of adding? -{

Thanks Joe! I may be in contact. Eventually I would like my own domain with the "public editing" system mentioned earlier, but for the time being I may take you up on that. I appreciate the offer.
Craig expert reporting. That's why I am actually glad you are a Brosnan era fan, the area I have little knowledge in.
I worked up a fast and very rough version of what I think we're all picturing, just to see if we're all on the same page. I did this in ab out 20 minutes, so PLEASE don't check my work for accuracy. 8-)
Let me know what you think.

That looks great. I like the format: having an image from the scene and then a chart for each item.
The format makes for a quick and easy reference guide. Only 20 minutes, huh? That's pretty impressive. Thanks for putting this together!

Urhash, I like what you've done with the blog. Just one thing on the GE Tank chase suit, if I may? After studying screen captures incessantly (obsessive, I know, but I'm hoping to get a replica made of it in the future:)), I'm pretty certain that the right-side ticket pocket does indeed have a flap.
Another thing, this suit has been worn by Brosnan in some promo pictures (such as this one: http://bztv.typepad.com/moviessquared/images/goldeneye.jpg) with a matching vest. Does anyone have any pictures prominently featuring the vest. Such as how many buttons it has and the like?

Indy Bond, if you are the same Indy Bond from COW, good to see you here. I have worked with this guy before on screen accuracy quests over on the Indy forums and can vouch good things. If not, welcome anyway! Thanks for the pointers.
Mr Darlington, the site add-on looks great! The one thing I'd like to eventually add is more pics of individual items, as well as cross-reference links. That is to say that if someone clicked on "shoes" they could see a straight list of all bond shoes, as well as organized by actor, brand, film, etc.
