Interesting article about T&A and Craig

Funny/interesting article about Craig being fitted for his shirts by T&A. Turns out he was fitted for his shirts even before he was announced as Bond! They also talk about how two NY tailors flew to the Bahamas to make further adjustments... which seems to jive with Mantis' experience at T&A NY (which he wrote about). That may also explain why the white bahamas shirt was altered by a T&A tailor (despite not being their creation).

"primarily in the initial scenes on the beach and then the casino confrontation"

I wonder what the initial scene on teh beach could be? T&A have said on numerous occasions that teh only shirt they made was the casino one...hmmm!

    sruzgar,
Do you think T&A just doesn't want to take credit for making the arrival shirt?

It is a departure from the shirts they make, and the other shirt makers involved have denied it too. Maybe T&A hated it and therefore want no association, it was a purely LH design afterall.

Does anyone with a contact at T&A have a costume card they could show to see if they even have the material?

I have mentione before that my PTS blue cotton/linen shirt is the exact same cut as bahamas arrival so its definetley a hemming design, she probably designed the casino shirt too but T&A thought they could make $$ from that!

I had a very good contact for seven years bro, definately not them that made the shirt I was told. It will take a brave man to venture forth to Jermyn St with a costume card and asking those type of Bondy questions. I'm chicken, who else is up for it?

Asp, did you ever meet Simon Hobbs while he was still at Jermyn St (I think he was NY manager for awhile and now runs the shop in Cali)? He seems to be the only one who might not be a stiff assed Brit about the Bond stuff. ;) (besides your contact)

When Walther P99 and I were at the NYC store the other day, the guy at the custom section answered our question about Craig without any snobbery. They've got autographed pictures there from Craig. Someone could try there.

From my experience the T&A NYC store is very friendly and happy to answer any Bond question. However the NYC Brioni store is another story.

Just spent the morning at T&A for a final tweak of my test shirt. The person who is asisting me for the bespoke shirts is Robert. He is a wonderful person and in fact we had a wonderful conversation about DC and his shirts. I orginally order 5 shirts and after speaking with Robert about the CR tuxedo shirt, he showed me the material and I ordered a sixth shirt exactly like the CR tuxedo shirt. Looking forward to receiving them in about a month, just in time for my trans atlantic cruise.
