    Champagne is a love or hate drink, especially all dry ones as you had. For me, it's entirely over rated. I've had Laurent Piper, Dom Perignon, Krux and Bollinger RV as well, and I'd take a £30 Moet & Chandon over the lot, even though it's Dom Perignon's cheaper brother...
    A friend of mine is into wine and collects what he can. Whilst visiting him in the states, his wife and I got increasingly more drunk and snuck into his cellar to get some more wine, where she opened a Mouton Rothschild '67. Apparently $4000 a bottle at the time. It wasn't even that nice. Boy, was he pi**ed with us...
