TWINE caviar factory outfit

I was watching TWINE this afternoon and I wonder what is the oufit worn at the caviar factory scene. It takes place mostly in the dark and it is difficult to make out the exact color of the suit and tie... The suit looks either navy or dark grey and the tie look red or burgundy with some kind of subtle light colored print. The shirt look white but could be cream. Does anyone have more details on this outfit...

I don't have any 'specifics' on the suit in terms of details I have read in a magazine or interview. From what I can see it's clearly a dark navy 3 button suit with double vents, white dress shirt with a red tie that has a vertical weave and sparse yellow (or white?) dots on it surrounded by square red boxes. I believe you can see a pretty decent picture of the tie from the book Secret World of 007. I don't think it's one of the stronger outfits in TWINE, but certainly nothing I'd complain about. :)

Edit: Here's a screencap from bluray....

I myself am not a big fan of this suit. What particularly takes me out is when Brosnan loosens tie when interrogating/drowning Valentine, like he just got home from work and can't wait to get out of his suit. I'm sorry, it just jars with me, especially since Brosnan is nearly never seen wearing anything other than an immaculate Brioni with tie with not a hair out of place.

When Hemming starts every new Bond movie, I think she's given a different brief by each director as to the overall tone of the outfits. For Campbell and Goldeneye it was clearly 'Bond is back' and that they needed to re-establish Bond as a white collar guy with immaculate taste in clothing. With TND Spottiswoode told Hemming to make it a little more contemporary and less formal. I haven't read this officially, but I've recently concluded that Apted told Hemming that the look for Brosnan in TWINE should be Connery, Connery, Connery.

Just look at the suits. Keep in mind also that originally the boat chase suit was supposed to be the same suit Brosnan wore in Bilbao. Very clean, dark suit with pale blue shirt and a subtle black herringbone tie. Then at the Scottish castle you have a very direct throwback to the early films with the dark gray suit, white shirt and knitted silk tie. Then for pretty much the rest of the movie we have Brosnan wearing sharkskin gray suits with white shirts and dark ties that are clearly evocative of Connery's early movies. Also keep in mind that this is the only movie we ever see Brosnan wear a light gray suit.

The few exceptions to this are the Q-Boat suit (which again was a last minute change after it was decided 'some time had passed' between Bilbao and the MI6 scenes) and the above mentioned Caviar Factory suit, which I think were decidedly less Connery.

    Anyone disagree?

P.S. I can't even begin to guess what the stylistic brief was for DAD, which was just all over the place IMO... (then again what about that movie wasn't?)

Funny you should mention Die Another Day's wardrobe, I was just thinking about this in the last day or so. I think some of the inconsistency can be explained away by the storyline fact that Bond was on the run for the first half of the film after escaping the frigate in Hong Kong. He needed some suits and ties in a hurry, so he has his Hong Kong tailor sent up to whip up a couple of (cough*knockoff*cough) Brioni suits in about one hour (cough*off-the-rack*cough).

Same goes for the ties. Perhaps the tailor had had a rush on his stock?

The only times that Bond actually looks like a properly-suited Bond (at least to my taste) in DAD are the Q-Lab simulator (grey pinstripe with blue circles tie) and at the DMZ base, with his dark overcoat, suit and pale blue tie.

Still can't stand the movie though. Any BOND film that has the Emperor shocking Luke Skywalker with his Force Lightning deserves to be dumped on... ;)
Also keep in mind that this is the only movie we ever see Brosnan wear a light gray suit.

If you don't count the MI6 scene in GoldenEye... okay, now I'm just being pedantic. :D

But back on topic. For reference, saint-antoine, Bond is wearing the AD2000 cuflinks with this suit (again?!). See here: http://screenmusings.org/TheWorldIsNotEnough/pages/TWinE_0947.htm

Just to let you know it's a T&A tie.
Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.
