Did anyone else know that The L Word DVD was cancelled and the writers didn’t actually know it was going to be cancelled? I only just found out yesterday when my brother told me one of his favorite shows had been cancelled due to low ratings and being replaced by the new Family Guy DVD spin-off, and he told me that The L Word seasons was on the list of cancelled shows and I thought it explained a lot and the lack of a proper ending.

So yeah am I the only one who didn’t know that?

and I just want to add that the L word season 6 has just started airing here in Britain and im so disappointed by the new episodes, it is no where near as good as it used to be

OH…Just bought the cheap disney dvd box setcheap simpsons seasons dvd box set online!

The L Word wasn't canceled...and they did know it was their final season. Showtime apparently has a cap on cable series of 5 years, and when L Word hit the 5th, they felt they weren't done yet, and because it was popular, Showtime green lighted a 6th season, but not a full season, a shorter one, so they didn't get a chance to resolve every single story line.. I actually liked season 6 a lot..but you aren't alone in thinking they left a lot of unanswered questions. They added a web series of shorts on the website afterwards, and that explained a few things. A few shockers on there!

Okay, I hate to be the one to bring it up, but as a woman and a lesbian I HATED The L Word! It just seemed like a mushy lifetime drama combined with a man's fantasy about what lesbian life is like to me. I know plenty of other people liked it, but I just didn't.

That being said, I hate when anything is brought to an end, an actual end, not a Halloween or Friday the 13th end, with so many open storylines and unanswered questions. It's not fair to the fans.

I know what you mean. I tried watching the first season, and while I enjoyed it, I gave up because it became so incredibly soap operish. The scenes before the credit sequences every week were also obviously there to just to satisfy the hetrosexual male viewership (although if one was interested in lesbian porn, surely the internet is a better source), and it's interesting to note than none of my gay/bi friends particularly liked the show, although one is a huge fan of Jennifer Beals. ;)
