The 'Tiedeals' one looks more like the tie worn in the opening scene car chase.

I think tiedeals tie is very dark. Six months ago tiedeals send the correct Greene Party tie, and it was much more light.

If it's not the Greene Party tie, is it the one from the opening of the film or is it just a Tom ford tie similar to those in QoS, but just in a different color?

Has anybody here had issues with TieDeals?? I purchased a TF tie from them and have been trying to return it but have gotten no response back from Jorden (the owner?). Just wanted to see what people's experience has been. Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Craig

EDIT: I received word back from Jorden, the owner, and he has processed my return. It did take a few e-mails and a phone call or two before I received my refund confirmation.

What about this one on the site? Is this the Green Party Tie?

By no means am I an expert, but judging from photos of Magnoli's copy & the samples from the costume cards, that very well looks like it could be the same tie!

From my experience, I wouldn't trust the colors on TieDeals' site. The Greene Party tie is Navy blue and Silver. TieDeals says their tie is Blue and Gray.

Just wanted to give everone a heads up, I ordered the tie dak212us linked in his post from Tie Deals. I received it today and it's the correct Greene Party tie. I have the Magnoli replica, and they are nearly identical, except the Tom Ford is just a little wider, but not by much.

A good gamble that paid off! Congrats! Can you post some pics with a comparison to the Magnoli??

FYI, this tie is no longer available on TieDeals now.

    DBS,

Thanks! I'll try and get pictures up towards the end of the week. Color wise, the Magnoli is dead on. He really did a good job on this tie, as always. It was a gamble, and I would have been disappointed if the tie was not the correct one, but I guess I got lucky this time.

    This link works: http://www.tiedeals.com/tomford_09/tomf90984-bsb.htm

This is the tie your referring to, right?

    Asd007,

That link does work, but TieDeals doesn't deactivate links on products that aren't in stock anymore. That happened to me when I tried to order a different QoS tie on their site and used a posting from someone here to do it. They sent me a different tie and told me the one I had ordered was no longer in stock, instead of contacting me first.

So a warning to all - if you want to purchase one of their ties, go to their home page and select "Tom Ford" ties from there. If you don't see the tie in the menu, it's not in stock.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

    Craig,

Thank you. I guess the hunt for QoS ties continues.......

    Sincerely,

Here's the comparison pictures as promised. The Magnoli is on the left and the Tom Ford on the right:

Wow, that's so close. You just sold me on the Magnoli :)
Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.

    Monza860,

I was impressed with the accuracy of the Magnoli when I compared it to the Tom Ford. It's certainly a great alternative to the Tom Ford.

JB1962 you beat me by hours..! I had been in contact with Jorden regarding the accuracy (Not!) of the photos he posts and depsite other comments was going to purchase but then..... no stock!
Nice find. Any chance of the TF code? Thanks.
These days it takes three kills...!

    000-7,

The tie itself doesn't have any code numbers on it, but the plactic bag it came in has: TFB73 1TK C ITA 081 on it and a UPC code of 0 120240 217034.

Part of me wishes I had ordered it myself but for $160 that's a tough buy. I just received the Goldeneye, TND and Montenegro ties from Magnoli though. They are truly fantastic.
  • DBSDBS Los Angeles, CAPosts: 1,015MI6 Agent
Is it me, or is there no consistency with the TieDeals site? Right now, I'm viewing a tie with the description "gray silver mini diamonds," but when I click on the tie, the description changes to "white and black checkers design." So which is it? Yikes!!! I'll keep my gambling to the blackjack table at Caesar's.

    Holden,

What's with the tie swatch my friend?
  • HoldenHolden UKPosts: 664MI6 Agent
Just confirming that JB1962 found the right tie, right code.
I've managed to get .jpg swatches of the TF QoS ties from a TF contact in Harrods, although some definitely weren't used in the film and the Kazan tie isn't included.

Anyone that wants them can pm me their e-mail address. :)

    Holden,
    Send them my way. :)

    Holden,

PM sent. Thanks for the confirmation. It would be bad if the Tom Ford tie, and Magnoli's, were incorrect!

Last week, when I saw those pictures, I said to myself «Whoa, it's exactly the same tie, and you can get 5 from Magnoli for 1 from Tom Ford.»

But now, I thought about it and really, the Magnoli tie does not look as good as the TF. It does not catch the light. It does not sparkle and blend at the same tie. I must say that the colors on the TF tie are incredible. The magnoli colors seems to"wither and die". The pattern is good, but once you've seen the TF tie, I don't think you can go back to the Magnoli one.

I would like someone who was both Bolivia ties to do the same thing, because this one is even harder to find, and it would be a great treat if the Magnoli was really close to the real one.

But of course, for the price, it is PERFECT.

  • dak212usdak212us CaliforniaPosts: 63MI6 Agent
You can't judge how they catch the light or "sparkle" by how the light hits them from a camera flash.

Even sitting side by side, the flash hits both ties at a different angle. I judge the colors and patterns matching and the fact that JB1962 who owns both says Magnoli's is spot on.
  • toutbruntoutbrun Washington, USAPosts: 1,501MI6 Agent
I don't want to argue too much, and this is what I thought at first, but in every picture, the Tom Ford tie seems to be equally sparkly in a very beautiful way, while the Magnoli really seems to fade every time.

In fact, to prove my point, in the 4 pictures, there is no place on the Magnoli that has the same feeling than the Tom Ford, which proves, for me, that it is not only the lights.

However, again, it is very accurate, for sure the most accurate on the market, but I would not say it is the same, at all!

Plus, maybe it looks the same in person - which I doubt - but this very special feeling that tooks us time to understand in the movie won't be there in your pictures, as seen on these pictures here. You won't have the James Bond effect.

I allow anyone to disagree and argue with me. No offense in advance.
