Just to let everyone know the Magnoli tie replicates the same lighting effects as the Tom Ford tie. Meaning, it appears more blue from different angles.
I don't know about all of you, but I can't help but think about when Mantis wrote his articles about CR on a budget and all the other articles he's written over the years. Of course, we all know that Magnoli is a replica of the originals but I have to admit he does produce some fine quality pieces at affordable prices. Mantis has given us all several options to get the "Bond feel" without having to spend a fortune. Being somewhat of a "clothes horse" myself, I have had no less than a dozen shirts made by T&A, custom suits by various tailors, Brioni ties, etc and have purchased Magnoli products to fiil in when I can't find the exact item I' looking for. Given the fact that most of my coworkers buy from JC Pennys or Jos A Banks, I'm no doubtfully the best dressed person in the office and that is directly attiributable to the advice and comment from all the individuals who contribute to this site. Nearly a day does not go by when I'm complimented on my professional and stylish attire. So if things seem to be a little off on color or not exactly right, my advice is to find what works, stick to it and wear it with confidence. It's worked for me and I'm sure it will work for you. Cheers.

I agree. I did not say that to make some sort of shadow on Magnoli. I was thinking about buying the Hamburg Copper and the Champagne tie. But from the pictures, I can see the difference and I think that we could improve the tie if there was a "re-issue". From what I've seen from the TF tie, it seems to pop out a little; I think that there is some sort of relief in the fabric, while you can clearly see that the Magnoli hasn't.
I don't have any of them but I am thinking about getting it. I'm just saying it could be even better, I believe...
If you can't trust a Swiss banker, what's the world come to?
In fact, to prove my point, in the 4 pictures, there is no place on the Magnoli that has the same feeling than the Tom Ford, which proves, for me, that it is not only the lights.
Plus, maybe it looks the same in person - which I doubt - but this very special feeling that tooks us time to understand in the movie won't be there in your pictures, as seen on these pictures here. You won't have the James Bond effect.
Toutbrun,
Can you please clarify what you are trying to say in these statements? I'm not sure what you're referring to by the term "feeling." A feeling is a personal preference, and we can't argue with you on that point.
Have you actually seen these two ties in person? It may be premature to attempt to draw a comparison if you do not have the evidence in front of you. I wouldn't trust these photos as your only proof. No offense to JB1962 (I thank him for posting the only comparison pics we've seen here of these two ties), but they are far from professional photographs. The color balance is way off - it looks as if his white balance might have been set to daylight instead of flash. I would trust what he says about the ties more than the photos. As the TF ties are very susceptible to light from different angles, it may be best to view these ties under natural, indirect light, instead of flash photos.
I have the Magnoli tie (but not the TF), and I love it. I have the swatch of the TF from the Costume Card, and to me, it looks spot on.
I agree with what DBS said, I'm far from a professional photographer and the photos were taken by a SE C902 cellphone. Definately, not a professional camera! I only posted them as a reference to help those who wanted to get the Greene Party tie but couldn't find the Tom Ford, or didn't want to pay Tom Ford prices. The only reason I have both ties is I bought the Magnoli thinking I wouldn't come across the Tom Ford, and as luck would have it, I was able to snap up the Tom Ford. I can't stress enough how dead on the Magnoli looks when compared to the Tom Ford.
The Magnoli ties are excellent reproductions and are a great value for the price. Are they comparable to Tom Ford or Armani ties in terms of the quality of the silk, the lining, and the fabrication? No, but that doesn't stop me from having fun and wearing them and they do look good. If I could easily find the Ford QoS ties, I'd probably fork over the dough, but I'm fine with Magnoli's otherwise. :007)

Just my two cents.

There are not much pictures of the Magnoli Champagne tie on this site... if you happen to have some...
