my favorite bond

Ok. I grew up a james bond fan. I dont know why because no one in my family liked it. But the first one i saw was Licence to Kill. I didnt know what it was about but now, 17 years later, i own all the james bond movies. I believe that Pierce Brosnan was close to the top but no one does what Sean Connery did for Bond. So am I the only one out there who thinks that Timothy Dalton did an allrite job? O, George Lazenby sucked.

    Dalton was good, and pretty much how I picture the literary Bond when I read Fleming's novels.
    Sean was the first and the best. Up until YOLT, that is. He was Bond, and he was class. Think of the picture of him leaning casually on the DB5 and that is Bond.
    Roger tried, but the seventies did it for him. He was up against Smokey and the Bandit for christ's sake! Corporate bollocks and a quest for popularity with an ill-advised demographic turned his franchise just plain silly after TSWLM, he almost got it back for AVTAK. He's the Bond I watch with my young daughter - the family veiwing choice!
    Lazenby was in a no win situation taking over from Connery, especially with no previous acting experience. Read OHMSS and then watch it - suddenly he seems all right in the role.
    Brosnan is close to being my favourite - he has class, carries himself well in fight scenes, delivers humour, has the best raport with M, and his films have gadgets, Q, Moneypenny, action, good dialogue and interesting characters. They are the last films of the traditional Bond formula.
    Craig was helped greatly by DAD. A film I don't dislike as much as some on this website. :p
    That said, he is tough and plays a modern "younger Bond" very well. CR was a brilliant film and I like it as much after a sad 10 veiwings, as I did at the cinema. QOS followed up well, but lacked the same panache.

    I agree with thesecretagent, read OHMSS and then watch the film. Lazenby did a fine job, despite his lack of acting experience. Peter Hunt as director got the job done. Hunt had been part of the team (film editor), when Terence Young molded youthful Sean Connery into the (imho) definative James Bond. Timothy Dalton studied the Ian Fleming novels and really did a great job of becoming the literary Bond on the big screen. Absolutely superb. On the other hand, I prefer Connery's Young influenced Bond. The wit, charm, and class was a great combination. The first four films are my favorate, YOLT went off into a different direction (Sean didn't like it either). B-)

    YOLT was a great movie. Oddly enough in my own opinion, and most probably would not agree with me, Thunderball was my least favorite Connery Bond movie. What about Roger Moore? He started out good, then lost it a bit, and then seems like he got it back when he did AVTAK.

    I like em all, same as I like all the Doctor Who's.
    But if we must play that game..
    My favrioute? Literary Bond. Thats who these guys are trying to be like onscreen.

    I alos like Lazenbys physical presence. He was a real all action Bond, and maybe a more physical movie would suit him.
