What do you guys regard as the most iconic....

line of a Bond movie? For me its gotta be The first time we ever heard those immortal words Bond.... James Bond. The lighting of the cigarrette as sean said it was sublime imo.

Perhaps the laser scene and Oddjob out of "Goldfinger" are worthy contenders when it comes to the most iconic Bond moments.

"That's a Smith & Wesson, and you've had your six..." Then shooting Professor Dent, and finishing him off in the back. Casually stripping the silencer afterwards and not even getting up from playing cards...
That was the cold side of Bond, and try as they might it has never been replicated since. Not even with Craig and his scissors in Port Au Prince.

For iconic, it has to be the name introduction.
The series has many great other lines though.
not to mention: "James Bond Will Return"

The most iconic line in a Bond film must surely be the introduction "Bond. James Bond" in Dr. No. Visually, I think the most iconic scene is the gold paint scene in Goldfinger as mentioned by Hardyboy.

"That's my little octopussy." :)) J/K! Bond, James Bond, as our hero enters and "James Bond will Return" to let us know he'll always be there for us, those are the top two. Favorite image though is Connery and his successors in the gun barrel.

Seems we have "line" and "image" confused......

The maybe not so Most Iconic Line ..... "My name is Pussy Galore."

The Most iconic Image ..... PTS "Goldfinger" Bond lighting his cigarette/checking his Rolex in the cafe prior to the Big Red Explosion. Never again did Bond ever look quite so .... cool!

One of my favorite lines is in DAF, at the beginning Bond states, "Welcome to hell Blofeld." It shows Bond coming back into action after his breakdown thingy with Tracy's death.

As for that image thing that was mentioned above, I like the bit in TWINE where Bond submerges the boat and the fixes his tie while underwater. I makes him look awsome. :007)
"Oh look! Parachutes for the both of us! Whoops, not anymore!"
"You see Mr Bond. You can't kill my dreams. But my dreams can kill you!"
    "Time to face destiny."

That or the shot in GoldenEye where Brosnan straightens his tie while driving a Russian tank! They might be cliché, or even unknown to those not in the Bond circle, but nothing beats those two images in my book.

I wonder if TND & DAD have a scene like this? Maybe it was Brosnans little trademark as Bond?

Even casual fans know the classic "Bond James Bond" and "shaken not stirred".

They're usually accompanied with a pointed finger PPK stance. Which grates a little.

Apologies if there is already a topic around this, but I felt like summing up the most iconic moments of all the Bond movies. The idea is: if you had to make a 'trailer' or a summary of all the Bond movies, which scenes/moments/stunts can absolutely not be excluded.
So here is my list, probably missing some, so please add in:

    Dr No

    - the intro of Connery as Bond
    - The kill of Professor Dent
    - The intro of Honey Rider
    - the dragon scene and death of Quarrel

    From Russia with Love

    - The fight in the orient express
    - the bed scene with Tanya and Bond

    Goldfinger

    - The pre-title scene: shocking, positively shocking
    - the first (and best?) Q scene, including intro of the DB5
    - The gold painted Jill Masterson
    - The laser castration scene

    Thunderball

    - The jetpack escape
    - The Spectre meeting

    You only live twice

    - The rooftop fight (amazing cinematography)
    - the vulcano lair
    - the intro of Blofeld
    - Little Nelly

    On her majesty's secret service

    - The ski chase
    - the wedding and death of Tracy
    - the lair of Blofeld

    Diamonds are forever

    - no real iconic moments here.

    Live and Let die

    - The crocodile stunt
    - The boat chase

The man with the golden gun

    - the lair of Scaramanga
    - The jump with the car (pity of the whistle.)

    The spy who loved me

    - The lotus
    - The pre title scene
    - Jaws scenes

    Moonraker

    - The death of Corine
    - the lairs of Drax in LA and Brazil

    For your eyes only

    - The death of Loque
    - The Citroen chase.

    Octopussy

    - The death of Veejay
    - The pre title scene

    A view to a kill

    - The jump from the Eiffel tower
    - The chase in Paris (?)

    The living daylights

    - Pre title scene/intro of Dalton
    - The cello chase

    License to kill

    - Leiter fed to the sharks
    - The truck chase

    Goldeneye

    - the tank chase
    - the bungee jump
    - Xenia Onatop modus operandi

    Tomorrow never dies

    - Cannot think of really anything iconic here. Maybe the car park chase

    The world is not enough

    - The boat chase
    - The final Q scene

    Die another day

    - Nothing iconic. At least not in a good way.

    Casino Royale

    - the Africa chase
    - The death of Vesper
    - The torture scene
    - The end scene

    Quantum of solace

    - the opera scene

    Skyfall

    - the intro of da Silva
    - The death of M

    Spectre

    - The SPECTRE meeting and Oberhauser intro
    - The train fight

That was it. Naturally there are many more great scenes and moments in all the Bond movies. But these are in my eyes the real iconic ones.

The most iconic moments are: the introduction of Bond in Dr. No, The introduction of Honey Ryder in Dr.No, Jill Masterson Covered in gold paint in Goldfinger, Bond strapped to the laser table in Goldfinger, and Bond's ski jump in The Spy Who Loved Me.

I know there are key moments throughout each film that fans of the series will know well, however in terms of cinema history and the general public, these 5 moments are easily the most iconic.

Also the gun barrel is incredibly iconic and I would say, the most iconic image related to James Bond.

Definitely a nice moment and also the killing of Kauffman was great. But Iconic? No, when I think of iconic, I think of moments/scenes that also the random movie viewer would recollect instantly.

Doesn't mean I have no love for TND though. I like it a lot.
