Bond 23 has to have a proper villain

After DAD, CR and QoS we need a proper villain. A villain as menecing as the early villains (FRWL, GF DR NO)
instead of making Dr Evil form Austin Powers look like a serious criminal mastermind! Who argrees with me? A great villain can make or break a Bond film.

Do we need an old style villian? The megalomaniac in his secret lair seems a bit old hat now. I think, although not essentially the main villian, that Mr. White, or another figure like him, is far more beleivable in today's world. Either that or a fanatical terrorist leader or cell.

I agree. It seems to me like Quantum will be the new SPECTRE.
I thought I noticed a SPECTRE at your shoulder.

I thought Le Chiffre and Mr White superb villains. I hope White shows up again as he has enormous Blofeld like potential, except with realisic power and villainy.

Megalomaniac or not, we need a villain that's older, imposing and solemn. Problem is, the whole franchise has become too grim with its dark and brooding James Bond. I never really cared for the "chip on the shoulder" Bond portrayed by Craig(and Dalton). Maybe that's how Bond was in the original literature, I don't know. Anyway, the first order of business should be to mellow out Craig's Bond. He should live a little, bang some chicks, play some leisurely casino games(no more intense Texas Hold'em tourneys). Then, you've established a hero that can lead to a great villain. The best villains only work because of the Oedipus complex. Bond has to have an authoritative figure(fatherly) trying to quash his rebellious spirit. And the head of Quantum(the establishment) may be the perfect villain for Bond(the counterculture) to overthrow.
