is it just me or is a golden gun, jaws teeth and tarrot cards a little anti-climatic concidering all of the bond gadgets out there?

It's just you....seriously though, we represent a very small percentage of potential collectors out there that do not have these. And I promise NO ONE has editions like these as far as accuracy etc.

I for one am very excited about a Golden Gun that takes references and nuances straight from the EON archive.
  • texas007texas007 Houston, Texas 77041Posts: 2,356MI6 Agent
For me, the Golden Gun is a good start as I was never happy with SD versions. I will not buy the jaws teeth or the tarrot cards though. Hopefully, they have even more exciting stuffs line up.

Yeah all well and good but is this going to turn into another MR debacle? I'd like to see a time frame. I for one, having missed the disposable income boat, with SD would happily buy the whole range assuming the quality is as promised,

I cant wait to see how much the golden gun runs for when they release this, id love to pick one up.

I'm with Sruz in the grumpy old man boat. I'd rather see something new. These old chestnuts never excited me. I bet I know one person who's pee'd his pants though :))

I believe they will get to things we will all enjoy, but I do like how they are sticking only to Eon archive references etc...

i'm hoping this isn't going to be another load of false promises.

tbh, i'm kinda bored with the whole golden gun idea.

the teeth we've seen before too and the cards.... well, imo i'd put them in the same catagory as the SD parker.

or maybe i'm in a grump?

lets see who wins the race :)) no in all honesty it will be cool to see how this turns out. including the jaws teeth etc .

But i am almost certain any official golden gun release will deffo be a reworking or an exact copy of an SD Studios Gun. but thats just me in my mind

is this even official .. this entertainment company making Bond replicas etc ?

I think you will all love the teaser video .. coming soon .. very retro ..

and remember the gun will be unvailed in a specialy written article for ajb007.co.uk detailing its design .. creating and history etc ..

scaramangagoldengun's golden gun coming in four weeks...cease and decist order coming in five weeks...

Just joking...seriously though, whether you are excited about this or not I would hope that Bond collectors might be a little excited that companies like this are still investing in all things Bond. I agree no one wants false hopes and promises, and I think that is why this company is crawling, walking, running.

    Hi Everybody,
We have long been fans of ajb007... and you don't want to know how long we have waited to post something valid here.

Thank you to everybody for their comments all very helpful and useful. Thank you to The Mantis for his faith in us.

We are very aware of the broken promises and unfulfilled opportunities surrounding licensed Bond replicas in the past, and that is exactly why you will see no information made public by us until it’s a fact . Frustrating perhaps, but we would rather exceed expectations than fail to meet promises. However these are just fancy words that mean nothing until we starting putting great product in people’s hands… so that’s what we are concentrating on.

In the meantime we thought people would enjoy seeing a preview behind the scenes of the development of some of the items we have been working on for many months now. These previews will develop over time and tell a story, and reveal more details, ultimately leading up to the on sale date of each item.

The plan is to offer a variety of different items at different price points, from entry level (under $50) to higher end centerpiece items. We are trying to offer items that appeal to hardcore Bond Fans, but also to those people who may need some reminding how much they enjoyed Bond movies 1,2, 5, 10, 25 or even 47 years ago.

We thought 3 products was a sensible number to launch with, there will of course be more. We do have the luxury of a huge and rich list of potential ‘things’ to consider thanks to the source material. Anybody who wants to make suggestions or start a wish list, then go right ahead and get in touch with us. We are fans too and we love to hear what people think. Perhaps an official ajb007 poll of requests for potential items? We can certainly promise to listen.

Our products are all new and are not based on any previous work, other than that of the original prop makers. We have started each project completely from scratch and will be offering officially licensed authentic, high quality replicas that we hope people will be proud to own. Our replicas will be produced to high commercial standards and will be available through a wide variety of channels worldwide. There are no egos here and we do not claim to be the best, or the ultimate at anything…

Incidentally, we never compare our replicas to something that has been loving hand-made by an enthusiast, that’s like comparing a new showroom sports car to a hand built hot-rod or kit car. They are 2 totally different things, equally valid and equally beautiful. So scaramangasgoldengun you will see no competition from us, we love what you do, and are aware of your great work and enthusiasm and all the other people out there producing equally amazing things. If that work stays non-commercial and does not infringe on the license owners rights then you will see nothing but support and admiration from us. Be careful though we do not speak for EON Productions/Danjaq LLC or represent them in any way and is this is very much their baby.

So here’s to a long line of great official James Bond replicas …….

Well, lets hope it becomes a going concern. For that to happen, we have to support it. Not on fire about another golden gun, however for those who don't have one, I can see the need. As for the other items they are offering, well not on fire about them either. However, I would not mind having an exact copy of jaws' teeth. The tarot deck is still available, "Tarot of The Witches", if I'm not mistaken, since I don't have my set in front of me. The problem with the deck is that it does not have the repeating 007 logo on the back as seen in LALD. The card game deck that came out contemporaneous with LALD did have the logo but with a blue base, not red as seen in the movie. If they do it right, with the 007 logo and red color, I'd definitely get the Tarot deck.

I'd definitely like to see some cooler items though, like Largo's cigarette case remote door opener. Now that would be cool!
So, what sharp little eyes you've got...wait till you get to my teeth.

After the last-year-disappointment with a similar portfolio, I am not overly excited about this announcement.
However, everyone who will bring us good replica in real life should be welcome.

I have full understanding, that you don't want to disclose more details until your products are really ready, but it may be interesting for some here to hear a bit more about the company:
    Where is it based?
Where do you intend to produce the products?
Who are the minds and spenders behind this project?

You mention various channels of distributions, have you made deals so far and with whom?

This all asked, I must say, that starting with a Golden Gun may be a difficult task:

It surely will be one of the more expensive products. To produce and to buy for collectors. Many people have spent 1000s of US$ for their SD Studios guns and may be not keen that such a project puts their investment in danger. So, the question is, if they are willing to buy another GG, no matter how wll it will be done.

For those, who don't already own an SD Studios GG, I am not sure, if such a piece will be such an icon like for us old farts.

IMHO, the key for the success for such a project will be the mix of replica from the younger movies for the younger public with some well-chosen iconic things from the older movies that are well liked.

TMWTGG ranks not too high in the opinion of many fans, older and new fans, so, I'd more choose replica from Goldfinger, FRWL (iconic) and the Brosnan age, wich brought us a lot of nice gadgets, which have never been done.

If you are asking for my personal needs, I would warmly welcome an Octopussy Faberge egg, a TLD keyfinder, an ATAC and a SOLEX. But I am not sure, if the sellable numbers will be enough to develop and market those.

    Just my 2 cents ;)

As Factory Q-Branch is now reading this thread, may I be so bold as to request the following:

I don't care what Bond props you have in the pipeline as long as they are of extremely high quality and can actually be delivered. If they meet this criteria, I will buy them. I am sure I am not alone in this and feel you will succeed or fail based upon this. You have a ready made customer base all ready to write out their cheques, with new customers just around the corner.

That said if you really want a good flagship product, apart from the GG, then it has to be the attache case from FRWL.

Living in hope in a world of broken promises

Factory Entertainment purchased the Master Replicas brand name IP and trademark in may of 2009. Why?

Because Factory is made up of ex-employees and enthusiasts who loved what the MR brand name meant and what it initially represented when the company was first formed, by the original founders… before the dark times, before the Empire. (We promise that is the only corny and shameless Star Wars quote)

By owning the IP we can at least try and ensure that this faded old star can enjoy a healthy and dignified retirement that aims to pay some respect to its legacy. Granted that legacy of late was a bloated hideous corpse, but in its day it was a beauty and the fine work of all the people involved (you know who you are) both on the production side and the customers who supported the company with their patronage should be remembered fondly.

Master Replicas LLC/ Corgi International et al are out of the replica and collectibles business. RIP (queue short pause for sombre reflection or shouting Hallelujah and dancing on graves as you feel appropriate)

Factory Entertainment is a completely new company established and built by fans and enthusiasts that IS very much in the replica and collectibles business. We will release our prop replicas under the Factory Replicas brand name. The highest respect we can pay to the Master Replicas brand is not to simply slap it over a bunch of looks like products and try to be a wanna-be. We want to forge our own way, hence our own name. We have some great licenses signed and some more in the pipeline. We are working on some great products but until we have some nice images and some juicy facts to share we feel it best to say nothing. (The reasons for that need no explanation)

All we ask is allow us to release some products and then let us know what you think of them without preconception and without the stigma of ‘they are not Star Wars’. Star Wars replicas are in the capable hands of our good friends at eFx as are some other notable licenses that have become available ex-MR. eFx do a stunning job.

The retirement of the old MR is possibly best thing that could have happened, sure there was some blood spilt and a lot of hearts broken. We all have some nice battle scars and will doubtless need years of therapy. But in the end it helps the entire industry as it frees up licenses and injects new blood.

Here’s to the future! ‘haud magis ego haud magis culi!

Very very intresting and exciting, looking forward to see if i have chance to get and own the golden gun replica.

I cancelled my own so called "Golden gun project", when i noticed that i just can't make a good one. Just don't have enough

talent, expertize, tools and patience to finish one :#

If i have a chance for this one, i will buy it... if it's as accurate and good quality as i expect :p

So far so good, looking very good at this moment.

    Kind Regards,

Ok Factory Q-Branch, I now have a better idea of your aims and goals etc .. and what your company is all about after reading some of the coments and points put across. here regarding your up and coming products.

Best of luck to you and I will no doubt be buying almost all of your replicas no doubt so I will be a fan and customer. If you ever need any help or advice regarding any project no matter how small the detail or anything like that please feel free to contact me for anything And i will do my best to help. And I am sure you have the full support and help and minds of all the Collectors and prop makers on these forums. a great bunch of lads and a close community .

I admire start ups and new ideas like your, I was just a little confused at first by the way it was presented, I first thought your company was a sort of branch or side company or add on to Mater Replicas. or a similar company promising certain items for release.. but now I know its passionate fans and to be honest that interests me more and I am more pleased about a basis like that for a props and replicas company rather than a company just in it for the profit and to produce as much as possible and flood the market place. As you are fans of these forums and will know many of the collectors that will make for a better and more unique understanding of the collectors you will be selling to . which is a good way to go in comparison to the likes of even official brands like corgi and such who it is obvious has lost a lot of collectors custom from re releasing the same stuff again and again and again only in different packaging .. etc .. it gets a little boaring and old.....

so I am very please to see a fresh angle on the whole thing..

so my full support and praise is with you and as i say any help or information you need or are curious about or even if you wish to use or refference some of my custom made prototype props etc I can make them available to you .. with detailed photos and analysis.

in regards to your comments about my new Golden Gun .. all I can say is many thanks for your kind comments and what you said about custom made one off props to production props ... spot on ..

But I cant be taking much credit for this new Golden Gun... its My Gradfathers handywork ... i only had a hand in some of the design and a little of the making of it .. I give full credit to him and everything he has created..

I know this sounds silly and far fetched but after having this made and playing about with it .. and what it can actually do and is in reality cmpared to a film prop with some camera work .. the original Golden Gun / Gun's in the film dont impress me as much now.. which is a shame because the film is one of my top Bond films .. its taken the prop out of the fanasy into reality.

Four weeks Mantis.. :)) was a rough estimation i am affraid.... It may be a little longer as I have just got a new car, A little 2 seater roadster sports car and she has been distracting me from my Props and replicas. :))

here she is if you all fancy a look at her. Drives like a dream. Got her last week .. sorry i am reffering to the car as a she.. been watching to much ''Gone in 60 Seconds''

    alright lads and lazzes....enuf....

poor mick shares his mistress with us and all we can do is giggle like those ponsey pubic school bouys at the end of his youtube....when jezza points out that the MX5 is for those who like rolling around in the cold wet mud.....

While I to am perbtubed at the concept of the best british sports car being designed, engineered, cookede and dished up in Japan by japanese chevs (the full ingleesh)

I did like the line "britain is the S&M capital of the world and we're all a bit kinky"...

Oh and when he said that if you're cold driving it wear a hat!....

    So THE TOPIC....

I'm psyched....these guys seem serious (sorry Mick....they ARE Master Replicas...or at least their new masters..) and while I sympathise with those a little underwhelmed by the first three items, with a little thought, each has their own unique appeal, as subsequent posts have grasped......

I for one will buy one of each (oh and an extra set of the teeth for my uncle roger to go on his bedside table...)

I hope mantis won't mind me saying, but he has been instrumental in keeping this effort going, and let's all support his and Factory's efforts...

Mantis launched a wish list in an earlier thread....how about resurecting it?....

My own "top" desire is a Jinx bra/bathing suit...compete with a Halle inside.... :v
