Tom Ford Sunglasses, are they worth it?

I've been on the fence for a while about these sunglasses. While they do look great, I'm leery of paying that much for them w/o being able to wear them beforehand. (No stores in my area seem to carry them). While a couple hundred dollars is high for a pair of sunglasses, if the quality is there I don't mind. I'm bought expensive Oakleys, Persols, and Oliver Peoples and they were all quality glasses. So to those who have bought them, do you think they're worth getting? They would be for wearing, not a show piece.
Thanks for any advice!

Hmmm, I believe the Persols and Olver Peoples are a much higher quality...but you can't beat having the right QoS glasses...so for me they were a must. Some people like the shape of the TFs better than the OPs.

I love my pair of TFs and wear them everyday. So in my opinion, definitely worth the price.

I have the matt silver/blue lense model & the gold frame/gold lense model also and they're pretty good.

Some TF sunglasses have a coating on the inside that stops bright light from reflecting back into your eyes, I think the blue lense model has this.
    B-)

I wear either prescription Oakleys, or if I have lenses in the blue/silver Tom Fords.

The lenses are equally wow when you put them on first time. I like em.

They are oh so definitley worth buying. However, don't pay retail. I've gotten mine off Ebay, and I'm pretty sure DBS did as well. You can find them for as low as $200. Look for the seller, pgk2210. I think I paid around $180 for mine, including shipping.

I would say they're not worth it at full price, only because at full retail, you're paying a lot for non-polarized or non-photochromic lenses.

Thanks, I got them today. $195, with free shipping. They do look and feel great. I'm glad I bought them. They actually came in the same day my QOS Magnoli suit came in. Who said Monday's suck? :)

Your going to need to post up pics of the whole look.

What did you make of the suit?

I will post some pictures, hopefully this weekend. I really like the suit a lot. This was my first time buying form Magnoli. I ordered the suit, matching QOS tie, and the cardigan. I'm still waiting on the cardigan. The quality seems top notch, quick shipping and quick replies to all my email inquires.

I'm not planning a Texas trip any time soon, so I think we're both safe! :)
I was going to post a picture or two, but the link to "add image to post" didn't seem to work. Help anyone?

I would suggest using an image site like www.photobucket.com (creating an account is free and takes about 2 minutes). Upload photos from your computer to your Photobucket account (just click on the "Upload images & videos" button on your account page and select the photo you want to upload from your computer), then copy and paste the "IMG Code" that's listed under each photo into your post here. That's the easiest way. But make sure the photos you upload from your computer are not huge files (I don't know if there is a size limit on this site, but I think it's safe to say 640x480 is an acceptable image size - the Admin here can confirm that).

    Kind regards,
    Craig

I've had these glasses for a couple of weeks and I love them. I will confess that I was only drawn to them by the Bond connection and if I am completely honest, if I had seen them on a wall of sunglasses I am not sure that I would have tried them. However, I thankfully did try them on and discovered they are beautifully made, have a comfortable fit and a decent weight, give me a great view of the world...and look great. In short, they are awesome. Although I planned on only wearing them occasionally, my previous glasses have been resigned to a drawer already.

Perhaps just as important, my wife loves them!

I recently received my pair and I have to say that I am quite impressed. They are extremely stylish, light weight and comfortable. The small details such as the genuine leather ear pieces and the case and packaging really make them. What I would caution is that you find them on ebay or from a respected online retailer for a reasonable price. They are very cool but do not pay more than $200 for them. The retail price is exorbitant 8-).
