At a toyfair recently,I bought a small tube of 2x 007 Ice Cubes (made of clear plastic) at about the time of DAD in 2002. (Think they were in 4 packs as well)
It says they are freezable and originally would glow with a coloured light, but after 7 years it no longer works.
I'm wondering who made these and for what occasion?
Were they promotional items for a premiere as I never saw them in the shops at the time.
Does anyone know their origin?

Licensing for DAD was a bit odd: Many both promotional and retail goods wound-up with a company called Beanstalk (they're still around and STILL talk-up EON as a [one-time] client!).
For the most part, Beanstalk takes existing items and adds a company logo to them as a give-away, like pens or any of the tens of thousands of other "premiums" you see at tradeshows or as employee gifts and what-not. The ice cubes are a prime example of this: Beanstalk didn't really make them, they just stuck the "007" on them.
I bought several hundred of the cubes from Beanstalk shortly after the film's release thinking I would give them away at events and so on (I used to run Bond conventions of a sort) but it never really happened. Last year I got asked to help decorate a Bond-themed wedding and dropped a couple of the cubes in every guest's water glass! For the most part, over the years, just to use the cubes up before the batteries went bad, I've been giving them to kids who come to see my Bond room.
Oddly, I wasn't aware until just a couple of years ago that Beanstalk had made the cubes available commercially. I bought them in trays of 24 or something for about 25 cents per cube as I recall. For the most part, mine seem to still be working ... only a very few have failed or drained the battery; give 'em a good slam on a hard surface (check the arrows on the bottom) and they will usually turn on!
