James Bond Casino Royal Montenegro tie for sale

Hi, in addition to the Sunspel polo I am also selling the blue James Bond Montenegro tie. It is made from the finest silk in the world and is one of the best ties I have come across within the fashion industry thus far. If anyone is interested let know.

I work in the fashion industry within the region of movie costume designing. The monetegro tie was actually based on the tie in the pic which was also in line to be used on set however one was made specially for Craig and produced with slight variances to match his eyes for improved promotional shots. I am selling the tie as pictured- the work is very intricate and it is made from the finest silk in the world.

Sorry, but I cannot see that as being true, none of the ties used in CR were bespoke to the film, they were all off the shelf items. Lindy Hemming did design a few ties for previous Bonds, but we all know about those and the patterns. Can you confirm the tie manufacturer and ref of that particular tie you have for sale.

I'm confused as to what you are selling now. In your first post you said it was the Montenegro tie, and in the last one you say it is a similar tie on which the Montenegro tie was based upon. Again the model reference and maker would clear this up as we know which one was used. Plus a picture of the actual tie you are selling would be very helpful.

    Primebond,

I have PM'd you for the maker of this tie as well. This would be helpful info, especially considering the asking price. Perhaps a photo of the back of the tie, as well?

    Kind regards,
    Craig

I understand completely. So to respect the wishes of some of the potential buyers and to avoid lack of infomation giving. I can tell you that it is made by one of the most respected luxury tiemakers in the world, it is hand sewn and certainly not cheap. And yes I am considering the offers that have been mailed.

So you are not going to tell us who made it then? You would sell it for sure if you could confirm it's the correct make and model used. It's seems strange that you do not want to confirm this information. As well as supply a picture of the tie itself in whole. At the moment it sounds as if you don't know this information, which is odd to say the least. Why withhold information if you wish to sell an item?

Nor really specific about the silk either, the screenused tie clearly has the origin of the silk in the label.

Also, in the above post you say that it is not the same as the tie used, or even the tie used in publicity shots, but one similar. I think you need to clear up a few inconsistencies that seem to have arisen in your posts to set peoples minds at ease. At the moment, it sounds mighty dodgy.... sorry.

I'm always leery of people who join a forum and immediately begin posting items for sale.
  • primebondprimebond Posts: 14MI6 Agent
It is unfair to assume I am trying to con people just because I recently registered. Actually I wanted to sell a number of items on here and thought bond fans would appreciate them. I also have the original quantum of solace tie along with other rare bond clothing to sell and if your not interested thats quite alright but you seem to have judged and villified without even giving me a chance...

I honestly don't see the point in buying a "perhaps might-have-been" clothing item... if it was not seen on the screen or an a Bond it is of no interest to me... there is enough real thing for us to get out there without spending time and money on anything else...

Thats not the case at all. You have not posted any information about the item you are selling despite requests. If someone wants to sell an item then they don't drop teasers and no specifics. Your own posts are contradictory and suggest something untoward. As Bond fans we have researched every tie used in the films and know the make, model and patterns by heart now, it's not much to ask, is it, if we want to confirm that tie you have IS screen accurate/promo shoot
    accurate, and the correct manufacturer.

As for giving you a chance, how many times in this thread have we got to ask for more information before you answer wholly and truthfully. It's easy to put peoples minds at ease by posting pictures of the whole tie and answering the questions in this thread.

I suggest you post pictures in your Sunspel thread also.

I have to agree with Asp9mm:

You are registering new to a forum and are immediately offering items to sell. You don't give us a chance to know you and you are keeping us away from informations.

Many people here have been asking you very friendly and nothing came back except unspecific promo sentences.

And now you are blaming members for being unfair because they find your attitude strange.

If you have something to sell, isn't it fair enough to provide us at least with the info, that is required?

Well- a better way would be to specify your offers a bit more right on the beginning.

It's like with everything: It's the seller, that you are buying. :007)

Sure I can post pics of the whole tie. You mentioned you know the make and model no, would you care you post the details of the montenegro and QOS tie, I would like to confirm something. Thankyou
  • saint-antoinesaint-antoine CanadaPosts: 209MI6 Agent
Really sounds like you re trying to take us Bond fans for a ride here with your half baked tie story. You should know that we are informed about what we are looking for and know what we want. It sounds terribly strange that you need us to confirm things about items that you say you know more about than any of us. I do not think your tie will sell here. Perhaps you can find a trusting misinformed Bond fan to take that tie off your hands on eBay but you are a dead duck here I am afraid... I just bought my Montenegro tie from Magnoli and I am perfectly happy with that as I know that Magnoli is not trying to take me for a ride... he is providing a quality product that is made along the same designs as the originals. He is not trying to sell approximations while trying to have us believe that they are prototypes. As for myself, if an item has not been seen on the screen or on a good promo pic, I do not want it...

Sorry Bondtoys, I jumped the gun and just took the details straight off the tie that I bought off of EBay for £300 + P&P, the guy who sold me it said it was genuine and had been used on set by Danny Crage, who was 2nd Asst to the 3rd AD, to hold his trousers up. Have I been conned?

I do hope not because I would love to get the real thing from Primebond

I think you're missing the point here that it's YOU who's trying to sell a tie without giving the details of manufacturer etc.

The members on this site know what is genuine and therefore have no need to disclose the information to you.

In my opinion the moderators should close this thread & delete it.

I agree all heartedly... this thread has gone far enough and wasted enough time!

As for being silly it is you Mr. Primebond who as acheived that status to an extent rarely seen on this forum.

No one will buy this tie from you here and no one will help you get information that you will use to continue this charade. That being said I suggest you move on...

Sad that this thread had to go this route. Let this be a lesson to all who post here (and especially for those who wish to sell here) - do your homework first, post plenty of photos, and by all means, be upfront and honest. You will sleep better at night and make friends here, instead of enemies.

    Kind regards,
    Craig
