175 USD from Magnoli for a cardigan.. I mean, this is really expensive! There is no way it's worth that much!
The same can be said for $1,800 for a cardigan from Tom Ford. At least the Magnoli is tailored to fit. The TF is just off-the-shelf. For $1,800, I would expect Tom Ford himself to come and tailor it for me.

I wonder what was the fabric used by Tom Ford. Was it 95 cotton and 5 cashmere as Magnoli? I mean, $1800 for a cardigan is a joke. You can get a Ballantyne 100% cashmere for $800, and that's way more than what I would pay. Anyway, all Tom Ford prices are jokes. A $9970 suit? Come on...
I think there are only the shades, the perfumes and maybe the ties that you could actually buy. But even the ties are pricier than Hermès!
I did not know the Magnoli was tailored (?). Still, you got to admit that $175 is a lot of money for a made in China cardigan. But if it's the only alternative to the TF, it may be worth it.
If you can't trust a Swiss banker, what's the world come to?

I dont think that is correct. Magnoli list the material as "85% wool and 15% cashmere". I agree the Magnoli offering is not "cheep", but for a tailored product and including international postage, I think it is reasonable.
I was at Old Navy today and found their black shawl cardigan sweaters on the clearance rack for $12.99! If you were on the fence about this sweater, that price should convince you. I had a mind to pick up a backup one at that price, but they only had XXL. Maybe other stores have the other sizes for that price.

Of course it's a better deal than the real deal, and I really want to buy it, but I think that it would be to hot; merino wool is much lighter, you don't get sweaty. I'll write to Magnoli to see if he could do one in merino wool.
Anyone who knows if the buttons are the same and if it was 100% merino on the original?

Got my Magnoli one today. Very pleased with it!!! I'll post pics in next couple of days....... I do have the 'original' Zara cardy, and I have to say it does take some beating.
I bought the Lacoste version yesterday...found it at an outlet store in Orlando...the color is to wide and big, also a cable knit, still a nice find and only $105
Just need to change the buttons, but it looks like a really close replica
This one really is close! But be aware that you won't get the same feeling, as there is 40% polyester in this one and the real one is 100% merino wool. Try to avoid polyester.

Magnoli had an issue with knitwear taking too long to make and ship. I have the Magnoli cardigan and I'm not happy with it. I buy suits from him and they're great but I really didn't like the sweater. I am still looking for an alternative.

I think it looks great
Good find, I have just ordered one.
Thanks Martin,
I'd be interested to know what you think of the cardigan when it arrives.

Found a coupon for 10% off (NUS10), but they dont ship outside of the UK
I hate this forum. Where are the Canadians here?

It's available in the UK from Marks & Spencer, it seems to be an almost exact replica except for the buttons.
