Walking down the street
Fireworks bursting with glorious extravagance
I walk, not a care
I walk, I hear a scream
I walk, I jump to the floor

The glorious lights have turned
They head towards me
I duck, I am scared
I duck, I hear a scream
I duck, I don't know what is happening

Walking into my house
Dad speaks to me with the calmest anxiety
I speak, not a care
I speak, I do not comprehend
I speak, I go to bed

I awake
The sun shines without shame or care
I am spoken to, I do not believe
I am spoken to, he has died
I am spoken to, I cry'

7 years ago I was walking down the street in a great mood with a friend only to suddenly miss being hit by a firework purposley aimed down the street, then only to go home to be told be my dad that my grandfather had been taken to hospital, I assume it is because of his skin condition and went to bed. The next morning I am told he has died.

This poem may be awful but it is straight from my heart.
