Yet another Sunspel polo post, question about shrinkage

My Sunspel polo in navy arrived a couple of days ago...very nice! But I am now wondering whether I should have gone for the small instead of the medium. The medium fits, but it is a loose fit. How are these Bond polos after washing? Is there much shrinkage? Assuming a 30 degree wash. I don't want to go down a size to find it too small after a wash.

Dryden: Made you feel it, did he? Well, you needn't worry. The second is...
James Bond: Yes... considerably.

in my experience, there is a little shrinkage, but I am streching all my Polos before I am putting them on a dryer. Thus, they keep their shape.

And believe me, to fit Bondtoys they require vast amounts of stretching :))

No shrinkage for me...as far as the polo goes, that is.

Although the large size I bought is now getting quite snug, I am putting down to all the hours spent in the gym rather than laundry mispractice!

With Christmas nearly upon us ... maybe I will stick to the medium and see I grow into it...it will be like my old school days getting uniforms larger so you can grow into them.

    Thanks for the responses guys.

I got a sunspel after they first came out and it suffered a little bit of shrinkage. My new one hasn't. However, I think my old one may have accidentally fallen into the tumble dryer.

One of mine shrunk considerably, sent it to Sunspel who measured it and reluctantly replaced the item.

They told me it was within their dimensions but it was skin tight after one low temp was & re-shaped whilst damp.

The other 'Bond' polos I have from Sunspel have been fine.

well after reading many posts like this i ordered a small - and boy is it small! i always buy small shirts sometimes medium but all these posts about how big the med was i decided to get the small. either sunspels sizes are weird or theres heaps of midgets on the forum! just trying to decide if to send back for medium now :-(

They definately come up small. I would normally go with medium, depending on make. When i bought my first Sunspel polo looking at their size guide i went for a large. When I bought the second one i got an XL to get a slightly roomier fit. But to be honest, an XL in most companies inventory should be like a tent on me, but it just is'nt! The XL fits better on the shoulders , just needs a tweak to the length.

I wear a 40" suit jacket and went for the medium polo based on the Sunspel sizing guide. The medium is far from skin tight, but bigger than I thought it would be. I am going to keep the medium to see how it pans out. I want to get a black polo as well, so I can use this as a trial.
