Now Guys I want you to pretend we live in a world where everyone is British and then pick out which person would be the best bond.

I Think that George Clooney would make a great bond:

He has a great resemblance to Cary Grant:

George Clooney is far too famous. I want someone relitly unknown but a fantastic actor.

I think that you may well have a long wait. All we know with any reasonable degree of certainty is that DC will helm 23. That alone takes us until 2012 until the run is finished DVD released etc. If the gap stays at between 2&3 years and DC does do 24 it could be 2015 before a new Bond is even thought about. If this holds true we probably will be looking at an actor who is in his mid-late 20's now, and possibly not even on the industry RADAR at present.

DC could do 25 as he will only be 46-47 so he could do 25 .

Agreed that it's possible, just feel it's very unlikely.

I feel actors like Clooney would be a return to the unrealism of the Roger Moore days. I could beat Clooney up with one arm tied behind my back and the other one chopped off. I need a Bond to believe in, one that could most likely kick my ass.

Remember this is a changed world, since David Webb/Jason Bourne thankfully Bond has grown up into a franchise where it hurts to kill. Where your enemies are often within. No more Dr. Evil.

Thanks to all at EON, to the writers and to DC's portrayal, James Bond now lives in a more "real" world. A world of heartbreak, blood, pain and tears... oh and Aston Martins and gorgeous women too.

Sorry Christo but the Clooney/Pitt camp just wouldn't survive beyond make up.

Given the premise of the question I would say:

    Michael Fasbender
    Josh Brolins
    Jim Cavieziel
    Edward Burns

Actually, the americans are too old to start out aas Bond (as well as being too american ..)

The next Bond will probably be unknown now, but Henry Cavill or Michael Fassbender are strong candidates. :007)

As much as I do like Daniel Craig, and in no way wish him to leave, I do think Hugh Jackman would be good, although, as you say, probably far too well known now.

None of these people have that Bond look.

Ipersonnely think Henry Cavill is the ideal Bond and I heard his screentest for the role was amazing just that he was a little to young .

Christian Bale would be like a rich man's Craig in the role.

But if they can be any nationality, what about Bale's co-star in the new Terminator movie, Sam Worthington.

Guys I think that after SC finished his bond stint, Paul Newman should,ve been Bond. He had the Bond look, style, and great experience in acting at that time.

I love Paul Newman, a magnificent actor and a wonderful star, but he doesn't really scream Bond to me. Cary Grant on the other hand.... :D

I agree, it would be nice for an Australian to return in the role as 007.
