    Hello,

I only recently became a Bond fan once I got the chance to see Skyfall in theaters with my parents. I fell in love with it, and afterwards I started to watch all the Bond films every Sunday afternoon with my grandmother. The only one I'm missing is to watch is License to Kill.

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to SPECTRE, and seeing the continuation of a very interesting storyline!!!!!

As suggested by TP, I'm posting here to introduce myself to the AJB community.

I don't lay any claim to being a Bond Superfan. While I have watched all of the movies, many of them several times. I have, since my first James Bond movie (thanks to my teenage friend's parents who were less discerning about ratings than mine) always enjoyed the Bond aesthetic.

My one claim to fame is seeing one of the James Bond Lotus Espirit S1s parked in front of a church near my home in Buffalo in what must have been the very late 70's or early 80's. It had a little plate just aft of the passenger side window that read, "Property of James Bond Enterprises, LTD." I don't know if it was someone scouting locations or there on personal business or if it was just someone who won one in an auction, but it was cool to see it up close and personal.

I am a fan of most things spy related. I'm a fan of the rebooted Mission Impossible movies and watched most of the original TV series (along with Bond movies) when I was a kid on a 13" black and white portable TV in my bedroom late at night when I was supposed to be sleeping.

Most recently, I've had a few health issues; one serious enough to be life threatening. This situation caused me to re-evaluate my outlook on life. There's something about Bond's zest for life and appreciation of the finer things in it that appealed to me over the first century of my life and even more so now that I have a renewed lease on it.

One of my favorite scenes from Quantum of Solace in evidence of the above:
James Bond: [at a dirty, small motel] What are we doing?
Strawberry Fields: We're teachers on sabbatical. This fits our cover.
James Bond: No it doesn't. I'd rather stay at a morgue. Come on.
[they go to a nicer hotel]
James Bond: [to the hotel receptionist] Hello. We're teachers on sabbatical and we've just won the lottery.

I'm looking forward chatting with all of you about all things Bond.

Thanks guys , its nice to know you missed me :D ,Well,we arrived at Palma airport (dump) and picked up the hire car ,a Ford Galaxy POS .Drove up to Pollenca ,about 50 mins ,and found our villa
    jackies_majorrca_pics_096.jpg
so far so good, We charted a speed boat from Port de Pollenca harbour ( I can feel a Thunderball day coming) :D We told the skipper ,that we wanted to go snorkelling ,and we had heard of some caves that needed seeing,
    majorcca_044.jpg
( it had the same colour seats as me BM :D majorcca_069.jpg
The skipper took us too this under water cave ,I promptly dived in ,and had to go under water to get into this cave .Was DR No s octopuss waiting for me 8-) ,but once in ,the water was a electrifying shade of blue ,it was ,as the skipper said ,a freak of nature .The sun light would bounce of the white sandy sea bed ,and light up the water in the cave .Finally ,our bottle went ,was there a big octopuss watching us 8-) We swam out ,with visions of YOLT.A good day .We tried the para sailing up at Alcudia ,
Floating high above the sea ,LALD played across my Bond memory banks ,something I hasten to add ,I wont be in a hurry to do again :#. But apart from that ,we just spent the two weeks lazing by the pool eating ,drinking

    Greetings all,

My name is Sean and I recently joined the forums after lurking for about a month. My first exposure to James Bond was viewing portions of the older films (Connery through Dalton) on late night television. However, I must admit that I never really cared for any of the Bonds (and still don't) before Daniel Craig. Though I do recall enjoying the "James Bond Jr." cartoon when I was a child. However, I've been meaning to give the Dalton films another try. I will also admit that while I don't care for the Connery films, I do like some of the wardrobe choices from them. Especially the Sinclair conduit suite and golf outfit from "Goldfinger."

It wasn't until I watched "Skyfall" in 2013 or so that I really began to grow an interest in James Bond. "Casino Royale" and "Skyfall" are among my all-time favorite films. I love how Bond has been written in them as well as how Craig portrays the character.

My main reason for joining the boards is to discuss the clothing of Bond. I've found the two main ways I've been influenced by the character are 1) to travel more and 2) to dress better. Inspired by Bond, I've started to wear a nice watch and instead of t-shirts and cargo shorts, I've been opting for polo shirts, chinos and chukka boots this summer. One thing I really want to do is recreate the style of some of my favorite Bond looks.

Currently, I'm working to piece together a "Skyfall lodge" look for the upcoming fall season. I recently treated myself to an actual Barbour jacket after finding it on sale at RoyalMale That being said, despite purchasing the same coat that appeared in the movie I want to find alternatives that don't carry the hefty price tags of the brands 007 sports. Affordable Bond on Tumblr, The Frugal Bond on The Bond Experience as well as this site have been incredibly helpful so far. However, finding a jumper that resembles the N. Peal one is proving to be a bit difficult. I'm also saving up to by the "Skyfall" suits and pea coat available at Baron Boutique.

I look forward to discussing not only the clothing but the films as well with everyone. Who knows, perhaps I will learn to appreciate the Connery and Moore incarnations. I don't know exactly how active I will be, but I will try to immerse myself in as much of the discussion(s) as possible and contribute to the community.

    Best,
    Sean

Hey everyone. New to the forums. I'm only 20 years old, but I am a huge bond fan. Watched all the movies when I was younger. Watched Brosnan's films hundreds of times. Actually cried (I was 10) when he was announced as not being Bond. Just recently got the 50th anniversary collection for my bday and am watching all the pre-Brosnan films as an adult and actually understanding them. Very fun to do so. I'm on the Dalton era now. Thanks guys. Seems like a great fun community.

I didn't realize before there was an introductions thread here so I thought I would give a belated introduction for my 50th post.

My name is Noah from Tasmania, Australia and I have been a Bond fan for as long as I can remember. I joined this forums after I started a Bond podcast, 'Double Oz Seven' with two others fans but have since been enjoying the various discussions and debates that occur in AJB. It is especially exciting in the lead up to Spectre!

I can't say I really have a favourite Bond and I am one of those fans that enjoy them all, including Lazenby! They all have their pro's and con's, although I can't say I am completely sold on Daniel Craig (I know that is an unpopular opinion.) I am still not 100% on what my favourite Bond film is but I absolutely love the original trilogy (DN/FRWL/GF), On Her Majestys Secret Service, GoldenEye and Casino Royale. I also have an extremely soft spot for Diamonds are Forever. Like the Bond's though I love them all and don't believe their is a 'bad' film in the series.

I am looking forward to continue on from 50 posts to have further discussions with you all about all things Bond hopefully for a long time to come!

https://doubleozseven.wordpress.com/ you can check out the podcast here. So far we have released 7episodes and have recorded 9. It would really mean a lot if some of you guys checked it out!
