An example of words having different meanings, apparently ( according to "The Unbelievable truth"
Tonight on BBC radio 4 ) Dogging in Germany, means to go jogging with your dog. ...... Unlike the
UK meaning .
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Thank you all for your kind words my friends. I have found it a big help to read and to write more slowly. This helps me to see things that I may not understand if I try to do so quickly. That I misinterpret(?) things is hopefully soon to be a thing of the past. I cannot really understand much of what is said in the James Bond forums about films and such yet and this is why I don't post there, but this will get better as I learn.
I often quietly correct grammatical errors in posts by those for whom English isn't their first language (and sometimes for those for whom it is ) which has happily gone unnoticed. I'd be happy to give some help to you, Joshua, if you like.
Thank you. I think I might take up your offer. If I want to post something but do not really know how to put my thoughts to English I may send you the message with my post first. This way I can perhaps see where I am going wrong with my writing?

Good to see you back, Joshua. Don't be a stranger here. We all like you and please know I think your English is very good indeed and you are coming on very well. -{

Well that's burst my bubble. There was my parole officer giving me good marks for the improvement in my written English, and now you've gone and told him that it's all you. I suppose it'll be back to porridge on weekends now.

I'm no expert in grammar either but reading your post I'd say you have improved immensely. Couldn't find fault with any of it and I'm pretty sure Barbel wouldn't have edited it either. I think you are definitely on the right track.
Keep up the good work. -{

My dear friends at ajb. I have not forgotten you but am still working hard to improve my written English and my reading of this language. As I already said, I hope to rejoin when I feel I am able to fully understand what is being said. In the meantime my personal life has been turned upside down with the death of my dear mother. I am grieving so much for her, she passed away only one week ago. I will not be able to attend her funeral or see any of my family as if I return to my country I will be arrested and imprisoned and probably killed. This is not because I am a criminal but because I oppose the regime there which is very corrupt and has caused much suffering among my countrymen. I leave you with this message. Please in the political debates and whichever side you take, remember to cherish and protect the freedoms you have in the western world. It is always too easy to take these things for granted.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your mother and of the situation in your homeland. We certainly should all be more grateful of the freedoms in the West that we take for granted. Sending all best wishes your way. -{

I have registered to this site in November 2015 but have been rather infrequent with my visits.
Some of you know me well from MI6 Community. I have the same username there.
I'll be a regular here from now on. Not sure how long it will take me to get to almost 9,000 posts. On MI6 that took two years ha ha...
The people who know me and have different usernames than on MI6 could tell me who they are if they like to
To all others, I hope I can contribute something good to AJB007. As I am not very familiar with how this place functions overall I will have a slow start.
Also maybe of note. While I consider myself to be bilingual in German and English (I used to live in Bournemouth for 10 years as half of my family (father's side) is British). I may sometimes write a bit "funny". haha...
My mother is Swiss. And I live in Switzerland since 1991.

Hi to my friend Jason.
You will know me as Dragonpol over on MI6 Community. I've actually been a member here much longer than over there. I was going to suggest that you come over here in fact, but I'm very glad to see that you beat me to it!
Anyway, AJB is a great forum and I know it will be richer still for your presence here. I'm sure you'll fit in well here. Enjoy yourself. -{

This may be of interest.

My best regards to you all.
Joshua.
I am saddened to her about your mother's passing and the situation that you are going thru.
You are a strong man and a good man, too.
You have been missed here, my friend!

Yes, I'd forgotten you were over there for a while. What happened if I may ask?
To be honest I found it a little fractious and cliquey. I do still look in from time to time.
