Greg Kelley's old DBS has resurfaced again, and this time it is on Ebay. The car has a genuine George Lazenby signature, but that is about it in terms of being an authentic OHMSS car.
Good news is that the AM DBS is an appreciating car, and that only around 789 were ever made. Bad news is that this car will need ALOT of money spent on it to be put right.
The paint is wrong, mirrors are wrong, interior colour and steering wheel are wrong, and the Chevy V8 is not correct.
You can have a shop paint the car the correct colour, do a quick die job on the leather, get a 5 speed put in, and fix a few other things, and you have a driver DBS that most people will envy.
Make sure that you inspect the sills, with sill covers OFF, and investigate the "bad gas" problems that the buyer lists.
May be a good chance for one of our fellow collectors to purchase a "Bond car" below market value.
For values of DBS 6 cyl cars, go to www.classicdriver.com, and there are 7 or so DBS cars for sale, all over 40,000GBP!
Good luck, and have the car inspected before you buy!
If you do buy it, I can help with advice on sourcing parts, etc.

That doesn't really say much about it, but if it's been in storage for a long period of time, there's a good chance (bad, in this case) that the Chevy engine could have major issues. My first car happened to be a Chevy Lumina that sat in a driveway for three years--it got a whole five miles before the water pump died. I got it from my parents, so I didn't lose anything, except to the repair shop that didn't tell me the head gasket was blown until after they charged me to fix the water pump... X-( Since then, I've learned to be ultra-careful with cars and mechanics. Since the listing doesn't really tell you what a "good service" consists of, it probably means major work. But if one were looking to swap out that engine anyway for authenticity, that probably wouldn't matter.
Which ones? the dome lights??? Again, that doesn't tell you anything. The entire electrical system could be shorted out, and gauge issues further suggest this. And you can't be expected to drive without headlights or a speedo...
I'm not saying this is a bad car by any means, but one would need to know what he was getting into before buying this. Yes, it is a very good deal on a car worth over $40K, but only if you are either planning to do the work yourself, or know of a reliable mechanic who can fix it. There's more to this car's story than meets the eye. Also note how the car is coming from a dealer--they probably have no idea what this car has been through. Have the car inspected by a mechanic, but only after you've checked out the mechanic, as well.
