Bonds gloves in QOS ?

Hi there

Any idea of the gloves Bond is wearing in Russia in the final scene of QOS ?

To me they seem brownish, do u agree ? And any idea of where to find a similar style ?

Here´s a screen dump:

They do seem to be brown leather. I know commissioned officers in the UK armed forces wear brown leather gloves with their dress uniforms as do police officers of the rank of Inspector and above. There is, I am guessing, some sort of status relating to the wearing of brown gloves in the UK by such people. Although not yet mentioned in either of Craig's movies to date we know from the books and previous films that Bond was an ex-Commander in the Royal Navy.

    Some significance here?

I bet Tom Ford has similar gloves in his stores, though you may never see them on-line.

Likely a pair of overpriced Tom Ford gloves, but I believe there was another thread where a capture showed the 3 darts on the top of the glove were wavy instead of straight, so basically your regular dress glove, such can be found at Chester Jefferies or Leather Gloves Online.

    Not at all ;)
    This is the Bolivian tie

And there is a good chance the gloves were not made by Tom Ford. Prada and other companies made a lot of accessories for the movie. Someone should go on the Tom Ford website, contact them and ask them with the picture if they did the gloves and what is the style number. But I'm too tired to do it.

When I was in TF the other day, we found the gloves that match very well to the scene...same texture, wrist snap etc...I believe they are about $600.

    :s

I've never seen $600 gloves. I mean, when Prada and Etro become a bargain, it's time to go...

Those are some pretty pricey gloves... 8-)

But not wanting to derail the thread or go off topic too much....

In the other Bond movies I believe he is but I'm not sure how it sits with Craig's movies. No mention has been made of his military past but perhaps that is yet to come out in one of his next two movies.

Thanks a lot friends for your Help.

nms75, I was not aware of the offficers use of brown gloves, it must be the reason Bond is wearing brown gloves to a black coat.

Found these, not exactly the same, but has wrist snap as well, to me they seem like a reasonably priced alternative for the similar style (thanks for the link Roikins):

    1. Good question.
    2. Are they still available?
    3. Isn't there a shop (in-store, not online) where you can have made-to-measure gloves?

Please, don't embarrass yourself. Don't say that. Of course he's in. He's Daniel Craig.

If anything the next will be his last, but he'll definetly have one more.

To my knowledge, DC was contracted for four films, with an option to do a fifth. I've read nothing that states anything to the contrary since his deal was amended after the release of "Casino Royale." The sale of MGM has little to do with his deal. Besides, I don't think his contract is with MGM - it would be with Danjaq, or more specifically Eon.

Back on topic (sort of) - Ced, where did you get that photo? Is that a behind-the-scene shot from DC's latest film?

    Kind regards,

yeah its from his lastes movie forgot teh name and going further off topic (seems a recurring trend these days) anyone notice the guy in teh background wearing the same jacket as molaka from CR but in a different colour? ;)

Wow, good eyes, Simon! That cetainly looks like the same jacket based on the stripe pattern on the sleeves.

The photo must be from "Dream House" then. It definitely doesn't look like "Adventures of Tintin." :))

Well, what do you want to know? They seem to be brown TF $600 gloves. Just write to TF to see if they are still available.

Wow, nice reply. Sorry if I struck a nerve. Did not know you are speaking for Simon. I asked him because between him and David, one of them are usually in the loop.

Was just wondering if there was some additional information on the glove and perhaps some photos. Perhaps by someone who has taken the plunge and purchased an original pair. Was not sure that it was established that it was indeed a Tom Ford model.

    Again, sorry about the question.

I have seen the gloves in person....defintely a snap on the wrist and they look to be stamped leather, not smooth...if you get my meaning. I didn't get them as they didn't look different enough from what I have seen out there.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, it's just that there is a post somewhere - someone mentioned that the color brown maybe had something to do with him being a commander. Otherwise, I don't recall any proof they were TF, but it does make sense, and it's impossible to get a lot of details from the movie stills.

I would suggest not to buy those from TF at that price and have them made-to-measure. There are a few places i.e. in London for 1/3 of the price and they can make them look exactly like the movie ones if you wish.

I don't recall the name of the place I have in mind, I know it's somewhere in the online archives of the Style Shrink of GQ UK.

    Hi Guys....

Just scanning through the posts and have come up with some interesting info on this thread.... My Sister works for Dents Gloves in England and maybe you should check these out as they look a pretty good match for the Gloves worn in QOS..

    http://www.dents.co.uk/products/50/Men%27s-handsewn-leather-gloves.asp

    http://www.dents.co.uk/products/53/Men%27s-Handsewn-Cashmere-Lined-Deerskin-Glove.asp#n

Please don't be put off by some of the colours.....My Sister assures me that some of the colours used on the Photo's are not exactly how they are in real life...... lighting problems it seems

    anyway....have a look....

BTW, if you want the best gloves, I would suggest «Causse». They are the gantiers who make the gloves of Hermès, Chanel and possibly Tom Ford.

Best glove house on the earth. Without the markup - but still expensive.
