Oliver Peoples Airman. Looks like Craig came to his senses.

Useless but fun post that I hope doesn't offend any TF sunglass fans. I was looking through the OP site and saw a very tiny version of this pic. Very obviously Airmans. Here's the snippet and full set. http://justjared.buzznet.com/2009/06/03/daniel-craig-defiance-dvd/

Have a look here:

& here for the TF's:

Nope, those are Airmans... they have white rubber tips, not leather.
Exactly! The TF's have black leather temple tips. The OP's have light grey silicone covered tips, like the picture. They're also shiny silver with thinner temples. If you look at the other pics, they also have more of a green grey lens, rather than blue. Definitely Airman.
Mantis, as a looong time OP wearer, I've never looked back. I admit though, I'd try on a pair of the TF's if I ran into them, just to see.
OPs have more limited lens colors as well; I got my Airmans back when they originally came out, and they only came in Emerald Green, G15, and Amber at the time, but they've never offered a blue. The rubber tips come in different colors based on the frame color -- my gold frames have white tips and the silver frames are grey. I honestly prefer the OPs since the lenses are polarized.
I had those lenses (platinum) custom cut for my silver-framed Victory frames in size 55 and they are stellar!
Kitt - I too have the gold Victory frames in 55 with the Burn Notice cognac polarized lense - are those not the greatest? B-)
IMO, OP are the BEST sunglasses I have ever owned. Their VFX polarized lenses are the highest quality lenses I have ever looked through...
BTW Kitt, he never lost his senses! I noticed at many promotional shoots for Quantum that Craig was wearing the Airmans. If I can find the photos I will post them. I remember a video of him being outside somewhere with Olga and he took them off for photos...
I love my BN sunglasses. I've got two pairs, one was to resell but I decided to keep them for a spare. OP claims they'll be coming out with another small run of 55's next year so hopefully everyone that wanted them will be able to get them without paying over a thousand for them on ebay.
I also had a pair of Airmans in gold with cognac lenses but Dad ended up with those. Always felt like Walter from The Big Lebowski wearing them. Little too much of a shooter glass.
Funny thing is, because of the limited availability of OPs around here, I'd never bought any OP sunglasses before the Airmans. I've been wearing their optical frames since the early nineties though. I now have five pairs of their sunglasses(also an Aero in gold/java that my wife has taken over) and I don't even know how many optical frames.
I've never seen any other pics of Craig wearing the Airmans other than these. Post them if you can find them.
the OPs are a better sunglass allround and I never regret (mistakenly) buying mine...
that said I was reluctant to get prescription lenses fitted, so thx to however pointed it out earlier....
I'll get mine sorted...
then wait around 6 mths for the sun to re-appear 8-)
And Der Clown, there are far better watch experts on here than I, so I expect to be completely wrong, but could it be a speedmaster with date?

cheers
I'm not that much of a watch guy but I know he's known for wearing Rolex watches in real life. The bracelet on this one looks more like something that would be on a Rolex than it would an Omega.
Speedmaster. Keo2eww knows his stuff.
BTW...this sort of reply would be typical of our dear friend....
I miss Bondtoys....
No, a typical reply of Bondtoys would have some subtle insult towards me at the end. Actually, not subtle, but blatantly childish with overtones of envy 8-)
next time i'll get it right!...
anyway, where the hell is he?...
Thanks for educating me on the OP Airmans guys. The link to that website I posted earlier is the only retailer over here that seem to get them now.
Any ideas if OP will re-make the Airman again?
if you're looking for a pair, put up a thread....
not everyone on here who bought them on the basis they were THE spec, is happy with theirs....
Stuttgart, skipping in the snow and eating enormous sausages knowing him.
Did you contact that nearest retailer directly? If they don't have them in that particular store they can always check with their supplier and perhaps special order them for you.
I have nothing but nice things to say about them - their service has been second to none with me. I'm not sure if that's just because of the relationship I've formed with my local dealer or not.
I went "Victory crazy" (multiple pairs, different color frames and lenses) ever since I first tried those on, and have never looked back! I will probably never wear any other sunglass frame, unless OP comes up with something else that I can't live without.
I really like the Airmans but never pulled the trigger on them because the Victory frame looks a lot better on me.
Let me know if you don't have any luck. I can always check with my contact in Boston. If for some reason they are not available now, they most certainly will reissue them again at a later date.
They just did a limited re-release of Brad Pitt's famous glasses from Fight Club for the 10 year anniversary. They are well known for reissuing most of their frames as they are all extremely popular and are produced in limited numbers.
As Kittlemeier referenced above, he has heard that the Victory 55 (which at the moment are one of the most highly demanded frames in the world) willl be issued again soon.
They are absolutely worth the money! Just take care of them!
P.S. Kittlemeier - definitely hang on to that spare pair of Victory 55's - you'll be glad you did!
I contacted the retailer in London but they're asking too much money and they told me they deal with OP direct.
I haven't contacted OP directly and I would appreciate your if you could speak with the place where you obtained yours from please.
Thanks for your help {[]
Knowing that's the case, there are some Airmans for reasonable pricing on Ebay, and you could probably buy one, contact a boutique, drop it off/mail it, and they could swap the lenses to ones you would want, all for lower than buying a new pair.
I won't be surprised if they can get them, but the downside is they will go for the full retail price! Unless of course they are running one of their special sales which happens a couple of times a year.
I'll keep you posted!
Thanks Red Indian
Not a bad idea. I think replacement lenses are around $100 so you'd come in at far less than the retail of $450.
I've dealt with Are at the LA store when I've called. Very helpful. The number is (310) 657-2553.
I found the Airman online with silver frames and chrome sapphire lenses ($350.00) - they are pictured with the platinum polarized which could then be ordered through an OP dealer, but that will put you at $450.00. The upside is you'll have a spare pair of lenses!

BTW the frames and lenses pictured are what Tom Ford copied - or what "inspired" him! I love the platinum polarized lenses - they are blue/gray whereas the TF's are more of a cobalt blue.
These are the ones I saw Craig wearing in a video of a Quantum promo with Olga that I can't seem to find now! I'll keep looking...
Here they are online in Germany for $547.77

Also still available at Adam Simmonds in your neck of the woods, but pricey there as well:

Actually I ment Speedmaster but wrote Seemaster by mistake as is the first name that cross my mind when thinking of Omega.
