List of QoS Alternatives, U.S.

I haven't tried most of these on, so if anyone has, please help out in terms of quality of the clothing.

Gap just released a new line of clothing containing a blue harrington. It seems that the harrington's pockets are dead on from the pictures and the color seems perfect as well.

If you happen to be a small or medium, Kohl's has/had a pretty good cardigan alternative. It fits quite nicely but is a bit long. The buttons are perfect and the pockets are close enough.

A for the Y-3, check out Burlington Coat Factory's Lightweight Water Repellent Jacket. It is very basic and seems to create that same look and fit that DC had.

Also, for the Y-3, JCPenny has this jacket, but it doesn't come in small.

I have no idea how good these chukkas are, but at zappos, they have what's called the Fitzwell Kade. It's only about 70 dollars and the reviews on the site seem pretty good.

A similar button pattern, stand up collar and pocket flaps can be seen on a pea coat that I found at Archie Jacobson, a branch of Quails menswear.

Casino Royale: If anyone is looking for a white shirt with epaulettes, Express has what they call an MK2 fitted shirt. It's long sleeved but the sleeves can be buttoned to the middle of the side of the bicep, transforming it into a short sleeve shirt. It has two breast pockets, fits very nicely and is a good shirt overall.

Enjoy. :D

Nice list and welcome to AJB.

I can only speak for the KOHL's cardigans, which I bought last year. They are nice, soft and just somewhat bulkier than the TF.

If you can find it, I recommend the Calvin Klein cardigan. Others are swearing by the Zaras, but I do not have one of those.

The Kohls appears to be a cable knit, tho'...I would look for one that was a bit "plainer"...

Those chukka boots don't look too bad, nice find! Anyone familiar with that brand?

I was at Burlington a few weeks back and they didn't have any of the jackets in stock, but that might just be due to m northern location. They had just about all winter-weight coats and jackets on the racks, but those might be back on display in a couple of months.

I don't have any experience with those products, but I did get a pair of Calvin Kline Chukkas for $99 that are very adequate.

I also have a extensive list of alternatives to Bond Apparel on my blog, http://affordablebond007.blogspot.com/. I will be updating it daily.

    Nice Blog Dimitri.

Very helpfull for us Bondfans on a budget... :007)

I did notice you don't have any Magnoli on there, even though sometimes his stuff is cheaper than the alternatives you mention (the knit tie comes to mind).

I was wondering if there was a special reason for this?

Thank you, everybody, for the feedback. And thank you, Mantis for inspiring me to do all this in the first place.

I mean no disrespect, but yes, the cardigan is in fact a cable knit, and the harrington does have rib-knit bottom and cuffs, and the collar of the black jacket from Burlington Coat Factory isn't raised enough, and the JCPenny black jacket isn't slim-fitted enough, and the chukkas have toes that are too squared, and the pea coat has epaulettes and cuff straps, but, as a college student, this is about as good as it gets with each item being $80 or less.

With the harrington, I've decided to invest in the Brixton Edwin black jacket, and I should be receiving it shortly. I almost ran out of time with that one, seeing as how the limited edition jacket seemed to disappear quite quickly as soon as I started looking into it months back.

Mishkin, awesome blog! Very very helpful.

I'm guessing Magnoli isn't mentioned because it is implied?

I didn't see the Brixton Edwin jacket in the list. Where did you order it from?

My apologies. I meant to list that one since I've heard such good reviews. There are only a few sites that still have them.

    I got mine from http://www.662bodyboardshop.com/

This is the only site I found with sizes small to extra large, so if I had to return my small for a medium, I could. Also, they have a 20% off discount right now if you enter the code at the top of the page, but I'm not sure for how much longer. That's why I picked this site over the surfride one listed below.

    Limited sizes:

    S or M @ surfride: http://www.surfride.com/getproduct.asp?p=614&b=25&ptid=17

    XL @ zappos: http://www.zappos.com/brixton-edwin

I had more links, but they are going quick!!!

Remember that the Edwin is limited. Once they are gone, they're gone. So you could try and wait and see if stores will be releasing new harringtons, or you can grab the Edwin while you are able to. As for me, I thought I'd play it safe.

By the way, has anyone seen or does anyone own the Club Monaco harrington? By the time I got around to the outlet by me a few months back, they only had 1 left (and it was white). From what I saw, it looked like a pretty decent alternative. Hopefully, they'll resurface in their spring collection, but we'll have to wait and see.

I own the Fitzwell kade chukkas in dark brown suede. They're super comfortable, they look great, and I've gotten lots of compliments on them. For the price, you can't go wrong! They definitely put a bit of Bond in my step...

I just figured I didn't need to advertise Magnoli mainly because everyone who is interested in the actual replicas of Bond clothing items would either A. Already be familiar with them or B. Wouldn't be interested in alternatives I blog that don't preciously mimic the pieces. I'm not really looking to show off replicas because they do that themselves.

But don't get me wrong I have my heart set on many Magnoli items, but part of the fun of my personal Bond blog and obsession is the search for the items that can be found out in the retail market on-line or otherwise.
