I ran out of bourbon last week so I bought a gift bottle of Knob Creek left over from Christmas at a discount. Opened it last night and drank it with a branch.

if by last night, you mean this morning (1:01AM), I had (about a quarter bottle of) a nice Chianti (no fava beans or liver though...points for ya'll who get it) whilst hanging out with three of my good buddies :x

What kind of cup did you get yours in? My bartender put mine in a old copper mug, he collects all kinds of bar gadgets and glasses but I have usually just got a mint julep in a small silver cup without a handle.

Nothing fancy like that, just a regular glass I guess. It was of a fair size though.

The American Bar (http://www.americanbar.fi/americanbar-en.html) is my favorite drinking place here in Helsinki. It is one of those places where you can order anyone of the classic cocktails, knowing that whether it is on the list or not, does not matter they get it right (with the exception of the julep cup, ofcourse

) ). It has '60s charm that I really like and it feels very much a place where IF's JB would have been more than happy to engage in some serious drinking.

last night was hot so i cooled down with a few cold stellas, each pint had a splash of lime and a slug of vodka.
cant remember how many i drank, but i was asleep by 10 and got my 8 hours sleep and no hangover

The "Ole Wife Beater" is a very nice beer as it is, why would anyone soil such a lovely lager by turning them into boilermakers, and with lime no less...

I understand the lime in some mexican "piss du chat" corn lager, I would even recommend it, but with a slug of vodka and in Stella....

Now, if this had been "Ice cold Stellas with vodka chasers that had a twist of lime"; That would have been commendable {[]

Anyways, that is only my opinion, do not take it except maybe with a grain of salt, a splash of lemon and a shot of tequila

and back to our regular programming; I had a couple of Old Fashioneds. Tonight it's gonna be burgers and beer, SWMBO is travelling
