Over the next little while I'd like to do review all the James Bond movies. I expect to do the opening review tomorrow starting off in order with Dr. No
Comments
Dr. No is the first James Bond movie. Based on the Ian Fleming novel of the same name. The film was directed by Terrence Young and produced by Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman a partnership that would last until 1975.
In the film James Bond is sent to Jamaica on an investigation of the murder of a fellow british agent , John Strangeways. The murder trail leads him to the underground base of Dr. Julius No , who is plotting to disrupt an early American space launch with a radio beam weapon.
The cast includes ; Sean Connery as Bond , Ursula Andress as Honey Rider (her voice was dubbed) , Joseph Wiseman as Dr. No , Jack Lord as Felix Leiter , Eunice Gayson as Sylvia Trench , and Lois Maxwell as Miss Moneypenny.

I enjoyed the Hearse Chase and when the scene where the imposter picks up Bond at the airport.
The opening scene with Bond at the casino muttering those famous words " Bond , James Bond " will always be remembered.
Honey Rider is definetly one of the best Bond girls.
I love Connery's Bond , I think this is the actor that Fleming wrote about.
Quarrel is one of my favorite allies and Jack Lord's Leiter seems believable.

There is a big over use of the Bond theme.
Not enough Dr. No. Dr. No is a great Bond villian I personally would have liked him more if I would have got more than 15 minutes to watch him.
The pace of the movie is like a classic detective movie not a Bond movie.
It's really hard to choose the best one liner from the film. You have to choose the line used in every film or one I paticularly like " That's a Smith and Wesson and you've had your six" So that one and " Bond , James Bond both take the cake.
Overall I enjoy the plot and think the story is a classic. 9 / 10
FRWL is the second film in the Bond series and is a great follow up to DN. To me this movie defines what a classic bond movie is. This movie was inspired as the follow up because President John F. Kennedy said that it was one of his 10 favorite books and ironically it was the last movie he ever saw.
In addition to filming on location in Turkey, the action scenes were shot both in Scotland and Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire. From Russia with Love was a critical and commercial success, outgrossing its predecessor Dr. No with over $78 million in worldwide box office. It is considered by many as the best film in the James Bond series.

Blofeld makes him first " appearence"
Sean Connery has another stellar performance as Bond
Tatiana Romanova is a memorable bond girl
PTS is one of the best
FRWL shakes the whole detective feel and puts a spy feel on the scene

Kerim Bey isn't a great ally in my view
The one thing that most good Bond movies have a memorable song, not this one.
The Bond quote of this story is definetly " She had her kicks, " but a honourable mention to " She should have kept her mouth shut"
This IMO is the best bond movie and my favorite of all time. 10 / 10
