the 'under seat' weapons tray was shown in a book called 'the most famous car in the world'.
fyi, a .22 calibre round is 5.5mm in metric. the cartridges differ also as the .22 is classed as a rimfire (ie the primer is located in a ring, around the rim of the cartridge) and the 9mm is a centre fire, with the primer located in the centre of the cartridge.
this is a pic of a .22, 9mm, .40 and a .308 round side by side.
Seriously...it could have been either one. THe original radio is US manufacture but it was used throughout and much surplus sold to Israel and Canada. Different language countries replaced the ID markings with their own language versions.
Gadmet Meister had a great idea to make and replace the plates with Russian language plates as, in the story, they were probably given to them by the Russians.
Well I actually like the Israeli markings on the Walkie-Talkie, fits in the the cold war technique of issuing gear from other countries to surrogates. Makes sense that the Soviets would equipt their Bulgarian henchmen with tools from a western country.
I would suggest also that you "personalise" that W-T by scratching a crude "K" into the paint!
A cool prop that would display nicely with Grant's Broomhandle, and an empty bottle of Raki!

It's actually a lot darker than it appears in the photos.

Was the screen used walkie-talkie Israeli?
Always figured it to be a UK or US surplus item.....
