I was wondering if anybody on this forum has played this great game? (New Super Mario Bros Wii - the latest mario platformer for the wii).
For me it was nostalgic heaven. I don't personally own the game (or a wii for that matter) but my brother does, and I spent much of the christmas holidays playing this game with him.
If anybody is a fan of the 'classic' mario games, then they should love this new mario game. New Super Mario Bros Wii is basically a combination of mario, mario 3, mario world, all the classic platformers basically. It takes elements from many mario games and combines them all into this great, nostalgic game.
Every level ends with the flag just like mario 1. The koopalings (bowser's 7 children) are back (who were main enemies in mario 3 and mario world). There's 8 worlds, just like mario 3. Yoshi makes a few brief appearances in which you ride him just like on mario world. The whole back catalogue of enemies is basically featured in this game too. Multiplayer is also an option which is fun.
