Best seats for a 3D film?

Hi I'm gonna see Avatar some time, either at BFI Imax or Odeon Leicester Square. Prob the latter as BFI is mostly booked up.

But is the 3D effect better in some seats than others? ie if you're bang in the middle, or in the stalls rather than the balcony? Any thoughts on this?

Stalls, about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way back, dead centre.

in a Cinemark (which is what I have) the bar row (right in back of the handicapped seats) is the best place for anything.

In general, whenever you go to watch a 3D movie you want the screen to fill up as much of your peripheral vision as is comfortably possible and sit so that the screen is centered in front of you and your eyes are lined up as close as possible to the center of the screen (in other words, don't sit near the aisles or at an angle where you have to look down or up too much). Doing that should maximize the 3D effect.

If you find that you're getting a headache or you're starting to feel motion sickness try closing your eyes for a few seconds or sitting further back so that the screen does not cover your peripheral vision as that sometimes helps.

The Loeff boys and I were pretty much in the middle of the seating, about a third of the way back from the screen. Seemed ideal to me. You're in for a treat, NP.
