Omega watches

A local Ben Bridge is having a closeout on Omega watches. They are offering 20% off. I have 2 questions for the board. The first question I have is, ignoring that 20% off, what is a fair price for the Seamaster in CR and the Planet Ocean in QoS? Secondly,It seems to me I should start with that fair price and then get 20% off of that. Is my logic reasonable and or correct?

Thank you all in advance for your input

You could certainly google those watches and find online sellers (including ebay) that will likely be discounted from list price to something similar that Ben Bridge is offering.

I doubt BB will entertain taking 20% off of that price though, it will be 20% off list.

You should feel that you will get better customer service and guarantee by buying from a local, well established store though.

Have a look at the QoS limited edition if you can. Its nice. ;)

20% off list price is pretty standard really - nothing special

I would also check Bernard Watch's inventory for Omega Seamasters, their inventory is used but they have some real beauties and nice prices for quality timepieces. http://www.bernardwatch.com/Omega/Seamaster

PSA... there's a quartz Seamaster Pro on sale here for $800 shipped. Looks lightly used, but unsure about any details aside from what's in the post; I'd PM the poster.

Technically, more accurate than an automatic when you're undercover and microseconds count. :))

    Please, don't get me started.

    Seriously, a 800$ quartz? I wouldn't even pay 100$ for a quartz.

A very good site for both new and used omega watches is http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/
I have used them a few time and the service is top notch. Ask for mark.

Perhaps, but for someone wanting a non-fake Omega Seamaster for their Bond collection, it could still be a good deal. If people are willing to spend a couple hundred for a fused replica of a Tom Ford suit...

Although if your battery dies in the middle of a mission you might be in trouble.

I have one hand wound Omega, the others are automatic. My preference is for the good ol' fashion movements vs. quartz. However it must be said that I have had instances, such as a skiing wipe out, among other things that have required that those good ol' fashion movements I love so much needed to have some work done on them. By the way, the hand wound has not experienced any problems but the automatics seem to be more shock sensitive.

If Bond's screen brawls / action scenes were real life situations there is little doubt in my mind that his watches would meet the same misfortune.

Quartz would be more reliable in the field. Special forces typically use Casio G-Shocks or Pathfinders. And depending on the model those watches can be well over $200.

But hey, this is Bond and he's got to look good. That's why he uses Omeeega.

Happy birthday man, I hope your next year will be great. Which version did you get? I bet on the orange one, but that really is a shot in the dark.
