1/007 Scale Q-Boat

Hello everyone,

First a small introduction, I am Robbie, 34 years old and I live in the Netherlands.
I am a propbuilder/modelmaker and collector, I own a few small original Bond props used in ‘Licence to Kill’ ‘The world is not Enough’ and ‘Die Another Day’
I’m currently planning to build a on of a kind 1/7 scale Q-Boat as seen in The World is not Enough, it is going to be a tribute to the late Desmond “Q” Llewelyn.

qboot1.jpg

I am desperately in the need of information about this amazing craft, I’m looking for good (front, side, back and top) pictures of the Q-Boat. And if possible plans or drawings of the boat. If you guys are interested I’ll keep you posted on the progress of the build.

Many thanks

Thanks a lot guys, yeah I’ve started a topic on the RPF, but I think I have more chance of finding information on this 007 board.
I’ve contacted Riddle Marine (and a few other people) if they can help me out with some pics and info about the jetboats they build for the movie.

That’s funny :)), I thought a 1/7 scale Q-Boat has never been build before, did you build the model ? Is it an RC version ?

sarky? how'd ya work that out? you mean the typo i made when i called him 'propcreeper'? no one's perfect, but calling me a **** and a fat **** is hardly a proportional responce, ****.

and propceeper a lad? at 34?

and yeah, if you really wanted to shave with it, marge is capable.

summat tells me though that you havn't reached that stage in life master schofield...

That’s really a cool model !, do you have more pictures, a video perhaps ?

I changed the scale of my boat, it is going to be a 1/6 instead of 1/7 scale.
Reason, I wanna use a 12 inch Brosnan figure from Sideshow Collectibles to put in the boat.
It’s gonna be a big model, 750mm in length (the hull)

nice one, looks like you've got the design pretty close. been watching the dvd carefully eh? lol

i chose 1/8 for mine as i wanted it fairly fast, but also due to the size of machinery available to me at the time.

it makes sense to make it in 1/6 if you plan to use a sideshow figure.

btw, when i made mine, there are some subtle changes with the design to get round copyright. a mate of mine at the time told me 5 changes to the original design would make my boat a 'new design' and thus escape copyright laws. this is utter BS.

if i were to remake it, i'd make sure it was screen accurate, and i'm pretty sure i could do a better job if i redid it.

    thanks very much.

with no info available from anywhere, i took over 450 screen grabs, visited the boat on display, watched TWINE until i could see through the dvd (honestly it skips during the pts now, coincidence?) and spent over 6 weeks preparing the drawings before the build even began.

alot of hard work and 'long nighters' but i now know that damn boat inside out, and it really really helps to know most of the answers before you come up against alot of questions during the build.

cheers for the kind words people, and good luck propceeper!

Of course, you guys will have to do a scale model of the MI6 building to go with it... ;)

That looks awesome. I LOVE miniaturized things...especially when they work.

Crazy thing though. About a month ago on my way home from work I saw one of these (full size) being towed up 287 North, just north of 78 in New Jersey, USA. You can miss it! If not for the crazy roof but also the electric green bottom. Couldnt believe it and it was gone in a second.
