CGI Bond... just imagine

Watching one of the Jurassic Park documentaries the other day, and one of the technicians remarked that "it's now possible to visualize anything you like on screen..."
After the brilliantly successful imagery in movies like The Lord Of The Rings, Avatar and the Jurassic Park trilogy, I can't help letting my imagination run wild and visualising a totally computer-generated Live And Let Die, starring the Sean Connery image of Bond circa 1963, in a version faithful to Fleming's novel. Or You Only Live Twice... It could be done.
I appreciate that mentioning CGI and James Bond in the same breath conjures up horrible images of Die Another Day but if you can get over that, just imagine...

    Or Connery in OHMSS. Actually, I'd love to see a sort of comic strip version of this using the same photo shots and Connery superimposed. Could be done.

    Wasnt there that car ad with a rapidly younger Connery some years back? It looked very convincing.

    I can recall years ago reading an article that described how someday it would be possible to make films with deceased actors ......while he wasn't deceased Sean Connery as James Bond immediately came to mind.

    Connery voiced the FRWL computer game.... I would expect a Bond commercial will be next. At least it will be an improvement over talking babies and cats!

    I would very much like this, on one condition though, it has to be TOTALLY independant of the movies, i.e: on its own, so at the same time both can be released. Keeping that in mind, this idea is brilliant. :)

    Seems a great opportunity to do animated adaptations of the original Fleming novels, perhaps for television...making them period pieces, and doing them in order...

    That's exactly what I had in mind.

    Theres really no other ways to do it, it would have to be in order and it would have be done practically line for line with exception of some novels which might need an extra action scene added hear or their. This derfinetly has to happen. -{

    I'd like faithful adaptions from any of the novels. I'd love something .. dark noir-Sin City like or black & white L.A. Confidential spirit.

    Old school animations, in tune with old school lurid paperback artwork, with audio narrations behind them using Fleming's own descriptions would also be something I'd treasure.

    But computer created actors? Like those informal Final Fantasies and the empty heart of the classic Beowulf?

    No thanks. I want to step into Fleming's world, not into a two player video game.

    Can I just reiterate that I was thinking more along the lines of the quality of images in films like Jurassic Park and The Lord Of The Rings - and certainly not Beowulf.

    I think there would be a lot of support for a Bond noir in period, and animation would seem the right way to go. I see this in a similar style to the Batman animations that were done a few years back. For as long as Eon control the game and Bond has cinematic mileage i cant see this happening though:( Does anyone know if Eon hold the rights forever?

    To all intents and purposes, they do. Film-wise, anyway; the literary rights are held by Ian Fleming Publications (ex-Glidrose Publications- the name was changed some years ago).

    I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to this idea, so long as it was still taken seriously and not dumbed down, as well as that they don't do it as part of the main series. It could work as its own off-shoot, though.
