A few "Bond'ish" pics.

While not directly associated with James Bond....I was playing with my Nikon and came up with these:

This piece was given to me by a very dear friend in Houston who is a fellow prop collector...its one of my favorite pieces...from "The Saint" w/ Val Kilmer, his gadget knife. This was the one seen when he purposely cuts his face, while acting drunk to gain access to Elizabeth Shue's notes. They made six (6) or so gadget knives for the film, I have accounted for 4 others in Planet Hollywood.

This is kinda interesting...the pistol is an actual Ruger .22lr pistol that was modified with a fake supressor and able to cycle blanks...screen-used in "Collateral" with Tom Cruise...remember the Jazz Club scene ?

Cheers.

I particularly like the Saint knife.

I think I was one of the only people in the world who actually enjoyed that film!! I even bought the same car (Volvo C70 T5)!

The phone shown is an Iridium Satellite phone. I went on a fly fishing trip many years ago to Alaska and purchased the phone because I like to stay in touch with my office. At the time the talk plan was something like $5.00 per minute! Its really not that "cool" anymore....there is much better technologies dealing with Sat Phones and the phones have gotten slimmer, sleaker and more powerful. The passports were easy...just go to members of your family and see if they have some old/expired ones...chances are they will just give them to you!

I was invited to a test screening of the Val Kilmer version of "The Saint" before the film was released and was asked to stay behind after the film ended for a small discussion. The film wasn't entirely finished - there was a temp soundtrack (which was the "Patriot Games" score and a few other miscellaneos tracks mixed in) and many of the visual effects shots were incomplete. Long story short, a friend of mine and I were not too kind to the film during the discussion. Little did we know that the director, Philip Noyce, and Val Kilmer were sitting in the back of the theater the whole time. :o I never did go see the finished film - perhaps they made some changes to what we saw in that screening.

I loved "Collateral." Great film! Very cool Ruger - how did you come by that piece, bondfan?

    Kind regards,
    Craig

    Craig,
I have been pretty lucky in getting pieces for my modest collection. The "Collateral Ruger" was purchased directly from the Armorer in L.A. and has its rental invoice to the Mann Production. The Armorer rented 3 matching/identical H&K USP 45 pistols (main handguns Cruise uses) and made up 2 suppressed Ruger's for the Production.

I will post some other items from my "movie room" if the Board has no objections and finds the items of interest....Don't want to be a "board hog" and wear out my welcome.

    Cheers.
