Sunspel

They have a new discount code because of their new website - 10% off all orders if you use SUN01 in the voucher/promo field.

They are claiming that they made the original polos Connery wore in the earlier films - perhaps the long-sleeved one in Thunderball? I thought he wore Lacoste at one point? I'm sure they were different then as their site states:

"Sunspel’s 007 Riviera polo shirt was the one worn by Sean Connery in the very early films. It’s a nice piece in that it’s not your usual John Smedley or Lacoste; it’s a perforated, soft polo shirt. It looks great in black or dark colours. When the wardrobe researchers were coming up with a wardrobe for Daniel Craig’s Bond they found that Sunspel had made the original and promptly commissioned a modern version. You don’t get much more ‘classic British’ than that."

– Timothy Everest, legendary British tailor and consultant to Marks & Spencer

Is Mr. Everest incorrect?

Anyone have any more info/thoughts on this?

Further, has anyone purchased their regular polos which are not mesh like the Craig/CR version but look rather nice! They have a three button placket and no pocket. They are also 10 pounds cheaper than the CR one!

But in short, no, no, no
And if you read the original article correctly the journalist made it all up - the 'consultant' has been mis-quoted.
