WTK: TND - Benson 1st edition hard-back book.

I have a question for the Board. Anyone have a est. value on a 1st Edition "Tomorrow Never Dies" (TND) hard-back book...and its signed by Raymond Benson.

The reason I ask is because of this ad: http://www.bookstellyouwhy.com/store/13227.htm

I know its crazy...I was just hoping the Board could shed some actual light on its value. I want to sell it but I would like to kinda know what to ask....

Thanks.

    When looking at eBay, most signed 1st edition Bensons go for approx. $80,- to $120,-. The TND book is supposed to be a rarer edition which could result in a somewhat higher price, but the price in the link is absurd.

    I would love to buy it - preferred not signed - and definitely way below that price.

    James M. Pickard lists a similar book on his website for 450.00 Pounds Sterling. So around $900.00 give or take depending on the rate of exchange. I know the Euro has taken a hit recently so the Pound may be simarlarly devalued. Pickard has been around a long time. He used to publish a hand made catalog under the name Goldeneye Books, he has since branched out into other areas and sells under his own name. Some of his items can be on the high side, but he's very knowledgeable about Bond Books due to years of down in the trench collecting of same. Check out this page for your requested information:

    Enjoy browsing and dreaming!

    Edit: There is also a rarer variant listed for 1,250.00 Pounds, so it depends which version you have.

    Yes, that price is costly, but remember, there is a rarer version of this hardback listing different screenwriters for credit on the jacket!

    The prices/value of most items is not what they're getting on eBay lately... !

    Anyone interested in the book for $999.00 + Paypal fees and shipping ? I think that would be a good price and even perhaps a "crazy good" price to the right collector. Shoot me a PM. Thanks.

    I'm a little shocked at how much this book costs today....bearing in mind that the ones mentioned above haven't sold...still...a hefty sum...I'm so glad I bought mine when it first came out.

    I remember when Goldeneye came out in hardback....none of the bookshops I went to could get it...the only place I could get it was through The James Bond Collectors Club (now defunct)....I nearly didn't buy it either as the cost was £20....so glad I did though....I even bought the BCA edition too...and that commands a hefty price as well.

    Good luck with selling your book -{

    There's really no rule that says how much certain books are worth. Someone puts a high price on Abebooks and others fall in line or don't. I predicted the hardback first would shoot to 400 pounds and it did, but eBay is crimping everyone's prices some.

    --And thanks, DG...

    Quite right. An educated consumer must shop around. As the saying goes "Caveat Emptor", let the buyer beware.
