Discovery of The Beatles!

Ashamed only recently in the last few months have become a huge Beatles fan and wished I'd discovered them earlier but because of my music teacher who was a huge Beatles fan killing songs like Help, Hard Day's Night and Eleanor Rigby which weirdly are now my fave! My top twenty is a follows-
1) Hey Jude (at two mins 59 you can hear Paul saying "Oh f***ing hell!"
2) I am the Walrus (just a random but great song)
3) Strawberry Fields Forever (amazing song)
4 Help! (another good song)
5) Eleanor Rigby (another good song!)
6) Yellow Submarine (classic)
7) Can't Buy Me Love ( great song)
8) Hard Day's Night (title was said my Ringo by accident!)
9) Drive My Car (not one of the best but I like it!)
10) Penny Lane (another classic)
11) Sgt Pepper's (such a good song)
12) With a Little Help From My Friends (timeless classic)
13) Eight Days a Week (not the best but it's one of my many favs)
14) Ticket To Ride (good song)
15) Here Comes the song (a later Beatles song)
16) Yesterday (good song because it's a bit different)
17) She Loves You (another timeless classic)
18) In My Life (has to be in everybody's top 20 surely?)
19) Let It Be (timeless really)
20) Hello Goodbye (another Ringoism I think?)
So that's my top 20 you can suggest other songs that are not on my list for me to listen to but chances are I have heard them because you can't be a Beatles fan if you haven't heard them all really! Ringo has to be my fave because he is funny when he is drumming! Head at an angle similing!

Sir Miles I belive they did not ever make a bad record. It was really hard to make my top 20!
Well...Long Tall Sally isn't strictly a Beatles track....its a cover of a Robert Blackwell song that was made popular by Little Richard - who was an idol to Paul McCartney.
And Loeff is correct....more and more I see people dismissing the Beatles....which I find incredible...its acceptable NOT to LIKE the Beatles (although, is it ?
I don't think I could ever list my definative top 20 Beatles tracks....there are just too many great ones to choose from -{
It was hugely difficult for me to list my top 20 but there was another 30 I wanted to include!
Although the beatles aren't one of my favourite bands, I do have huge respect for them as they have been hugely influential on many of my favourite bands. 'Hello Goodbye' always springs to mind as one of my favourites. Also 'elanor rigby' and 'being the benefit of mr kite'.
Gotta say though I hate 'yellow submarine'. That's just about the only beatles song I hate though, other than that they're a pretty consistent band

Don't know why, but I remember disliking YS for a while, but have never hated any of their tracks. I included LTS because although it's a cover, they recorded it therefore it's a Beatle song.
Although the quality is not too good, one of their Star Club albums has another favourite, the one that got Brian Epstein to check them out - My Bonnie, by Tony Sheridan and either the Beat Brothers or The Silver Beatles. It's not on my CD version so maybe only on my (tucked away somewhere) vinyl version. There's also "Beatles at The Beeb" as well as the Anthology albums to listen to.
Being born in 1952 I was also lucky enough to appreciate them during their hey days, what with 007 and The Beatles, what else could a young kid wish for.
Over praised or not. I love Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Same here...but I do really like it now....great 'sing-a-long' quality to it
All are great albums...I especially adore the Anthology albums....particularly the last one.
Just come to me, it wasn't a Star Club album, but one titled "The Beatles - The Early Years" I think on the Contour label.
Sir Miles - Yellow Submarine was the one song I used to sing when travelling by motor-cycle to air shows, when that journey could last 3 hours each way, you'll understand why I grew tired of it for a while.
