I'm really pissed off at Marvel comics and Disney...

These people are freaking idiots who had something good going for them. The Spectacular Spider-Man: Animated Series was a great show and now they're cancelling it to do another Spider-Man show that's different in title only. Ultimate Spider-Man covers ground that The Spectacular Spider-Man ALREADY COVERED but is that gonna stop them from cancelling a current Spider-Man show and creating a new one that touches upon the same themes? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!8-)

It's like cancelling Batman: The Animated Series after two seasons and saying "You know what? Let's create a new Batman show that touches upon themes that Batman: The Animated Series already touched upon!" It doesn't make any sense. At all.

I'd really to kick some Marvel and Disney ass right about now but they're not worth going to jail over. I guess I'll just buy the season two DVD of The Spectacular Spider-Man and try to enjoy the new show. But if Marvel and Disney cared about what the fans wanted at all then they'd make the transition from Spectacular Spider-Man to Ultimate Spider-Man a lot easier by hiring back the same cast and crew. But they won't do that.

Unfortunately Jimmy, that's pretty typical of how these studios roll with their animated offerings. WB did a lot of that as well, cancelling shows that were still popular and creating new versions while just basically recycling plots and characters over and over again and altering the animation style. For whatever reason, they don't seem to want to maintain continuity but prefer to just do a couple of seasons of a particular show and then re-imagine it in a different way. Just look at all the animated reincarnations of Batman over the past 10 years, and every time a new show premieres we get new versions of the origin, how he meets Robin and Batgirl, how he hooks up with other superheroes, etc.

I think part of the problem is that the studios don't realize that people actually like to stay with these shows. I get the impression that they think audiences will tune them out after a couple of years so they feel the need to revamp again and again.

Well at this point I'm just gonna throw my hands up and say "You know what? Screw Marvel and screw their animation division. I'm done. They just lost a member of their television audience." Spider-Man is suppose to be the most popular character they have and look at the way they treat him as far as animation goes. DC wouldn't do this Batman. Look at The Batman from the now defunct Kids WB. They didn't cancel that crap show in fact it ran for five seasons.
