Except the damn pony they insist on turning me into a walking advertisement with. X-(

    Haha, pony. I dyed mine blue using a q-tip, hardly noticeable now. -{

Yes I know, it's awful isn't it? But that's the result when a company hands the reigns over to 'new blood'. The brand is marketed to the parvenus and is degraded overnight. Many people who used to wear RL now don't bother because it's obnoxiously plastered everywhere. A bit like Jack Wills, the university outfitter for pre-teens. 8-)

It's actually happening to Gieves & Hawkes as we speak, too.

Big Pony is a monster. So many cheap black teenagers at my high school somehow managed to have tons of those shirts. And those RL Rugby shirts too. For some reason it is a beloved trend specifically amongst blacks in my town. Well, actually the school is one town over and I have since graduated high school, but anyways, that was the trend there. White teenagers all bought American Eagle junk that I also avoid for its tacky spray paint graphics and logos. I know that is generalizing, but my point is modern teenagers like tacky-looking crap.

Maybe that is just my opinion since I was more inspired by what the Bond movies achieve while the rest of 'em seemed overly impressed by MTV and, well, each other :#

Polo Ralph Lauren "Carey" Windbreaker not Stratford. It is very much (or very similar) to a Harrington

I stand corrected, the polo collar is not right

IMHO the Lands End Canvas jacket is better, and less expensive

Thanks for the information on the Lands End jacket. I just ordered it in tan, I already have a black one from another company. It will look good on the links.

Other than the Land's End Canvas, I can't find one that I like even remotely as much as the Magnoli.

    :s

Looks like I know what I'm asking for NEXT Christmas!

How about those photos? I'd like to see them. I spoke with Indy, and he told me that he had corrected the length of the collar "tab" to make it longer (more accurate), and I was curious as to if the jacket had TWO inside pockets (I'd request that), and if the zipper could be made to match (both the same).

I will upload tonite what I took whilst I had in my possession!!

Cant remember if it had 2 inside pockets - I think only one but could be mistaken!!

Interesting about Indy revising - would pull the trigger on one but not sure if material is similar enough for my liking!

Awesome photos, man. Sorry the jacket didn't fit! Looks gorgeous! Lightweight, and cotton/silk is probably extremely comfortable.

I wonder where the Tom Ford factory is here in Italy! Wonder if I could get an "irregular" for cheap!

I am looking for a long time and still have not found anything

You might be better off wit a Magnoli and save your money for the TF clothes in the new film
  • jz007jz007 Posts: 362MI6 Agent
roi, I agree with Martin. I'm looking into the Magnoli jacket for next year - it looks exactly how I want it to look. I didn't get to the Land's End jacket in time for the clearance special, otherwise I MIGHT have settled for it.

Having just looked at a Ben Sherman classic Harrington jacket in debenhams -priced £70.
The quality is superb even though it has elasticated sleaves.
Sooooo I bought one online for £54....
    Looked at this one first.

Glad you finally got it, the Ben Sherman is nice. You and me are in the same boat, we've just bought our Harringtons but can't wear them until at least the Spring, pesky Winter! :(

I have the one from Lands End and am very happy with it. The sleeves are a little long, and it isn't tailored, but it is very durable and well made.
