    For TheScashMan:

Okay. So you've indicated that you would willfully and happily allow homophobes and anti-Semites to run amok on your Wizard Of Oz fansite, and apparently happily accept whatever might result from it. It took some coaxing, but I'm glad that I was finally able to establish where you're coming from...at least from an intellectual perspective.

My characters do indeed use racial slurs in my fictional work, and I'd be more than willing to debate the merits of artistic verisimilitude with you, if you'd ever shown the capacity to engage in such a discussion...but then again, that would take place in another thread, and no doubt keep you up way past your bedtime [yawn].

I do very much appreciate your repeating the plugs for my current and future books, though. All the free PR I can get is naturally appreciated. Why don't you log on to my own website, OscarJade.com, where I've established a blog, and exercise your 'freedom of expression'? If you have the nerve (which I highly doubt), please do so...and after you make your post, you will receive a message that should explain everything B-)

    I'll offer you a packet of Spangles and a conker ? :D

I missed this post somehow, but have to ask you Sir Miles, what are Spangles and what's a conker?

Spangles ? They were fruit flavoured sweets, alas no longer available. You can read about them here

Conkers ? The seed of the horse chestnut tree. You take them and thread a string through them...then try to smash a similar one held by an opponent. Great fun.

    !

    Cool, thank you.

The comparison here is laughable at best and downright insulting at worst!

Your post is disgusting at best and criminal at worst

I've held off for eight pages, but can contain my silence no longer. It is clear that Thescashman is on another level of debating. You lot simply didn't have a chance. He is surely a mastabater, er, I mean Master Debater. He has used a clever stretegy, using only a 150 word vocabulary has kept the argument, sorry, debate going far longer than if he used, say, the much larger vocabulary, of perhaps, a five-year-old.
I do hope he sticks around for entertainment value, but don't expect sharp debate like this from monday to friday, 9am to 3.30pm in term time, although I'm sure he may get access to a computer at milk time...

:)) :)) No, but I think his broadband allowance has run out (or his parents aren't allowing him anymore computer time :)) ) - He's decided to leave...... shame, as he was very amusing ;)

Funny, when I decided not to respond to one of your posts that I didn't find worthwhile (which can be said of almost all of them), you accused me of not having proper debating skills. Dear oh dear, have you lost your debating skills as well? Oh my bad, I forgot you have to actually have something before losing it.

This is the post I'm referring to, by the way:
    carver97 wrote:
Right. Well considering the experience I've had in public speaking/debate and writing, I'll just dismiss all that and ask a fairly simple and straight forward question:

You clearly have zero experience in debate, hence why you refuse to address my counter post.
If you have such a problem with the way things are run here, then why the **** do you stick around?

If no one questions things, then conformity simply continues. The many posters I have defeated in debate on this very thread is a classic example of narrowmindedness and an unwillingness to, essentially, ''free up'' a forum filled with mods. Surely ONE part-time admin is all that is needed!

I think that it's nice to be promoted to moderator when you've been here for years, to begin with. Also, yes, we have here a forum where 99% of the members are nice to each other. But there are messages that could be deleted, moved, and someone has to do the job.

Just very busy...but hey, I've spent the last 8 years here, I'm not hanging it up now.

Interesting read from you all, but ScashMan..not so much. I feel bad for Si and all the bandwidth this guy wastes. He is a tedious read for sure. 8-) Best to ignore a buzzing, pesty insect I always say. :)

He's got to be a ghost of posters past. One who hasn't yet been banned from the new server, and has an axe to grind about a mod or mods who may have banned him from the old AJB. Imagine..profiling on a Bond board. :)) But the shoe fits, and he's a little tooooo aggressive for a random newbie. Who could it be....

We already have a good idea, Mo; and if we're right, he was actually someone who was on the current boards. Trust me: our eyes are wide open. . .

...and so is the fly who buzzes round my face at a picnic. He had a good angle on the Roger Moore thing...and had a couple of laughs with his obviously provocative threads about OHMSS, etc.---but he very soon cheapened it all with his go at anyone who dared take exception [yawn]. Comic genius...yes. If a single pie in the face is comic genius. However, such bold brilliance demands a second act, and sadly none was forthcoming---unless you assign significant entertainment value to watching longtime members swat at the fly

As the saying goes, it isn't always about you. Mo suggested the person in question might have been banned before we transferred to the new AJB server; I said our #1 suspect is someone who got banned after that. Are you saying you did get--or should have been--banned, NP?
