What about Rosa Klebb? Bond pinned her to the wall with a chair before she is killed. A horrible disgusting woman.

didn't he have a fight with May Day at some point? haven't watched that movie in awhile, though...hmm. weekend research.
I did actually mention Grace Jones (May Day)! ) And thank you for making a sensible comment to one of my posts this time, unlike the last time when I felt you were quite rude.
'cause you were rude. but anywho...that's behind everyone now.
I noticed you mentioned her, which is why I put fourth my question.
'cause you were rude. but anywho...that's behind everyone now.
I wasn't rude at all! I found your posts very hostile and it made me think, "sheesh, I wonder if she's actually rude in real life, or just trolling on the 'net?"
I pride myself on being very polite and well spoken!
leave well enough alone. everyone here has put your previous posts behind us. let's get back to the discussion at hand.
He did fight Bambi and Thumper (or was thrown around by them a few times), Xenia squeezed him, but he threw her off (eventually) which constitutes a fight to me...pinning Klebb with the chair is also a fight in my opinion...I don't think Bond is above a fight with a woman, but only if they attack first.

Lets keep to the topic at hand. Keep the personal stuff out of it.

How do you feel about Bond hitting women? Even if she hits first?
I think it's fine, as most of the women are strong characters. to use myself as an example, if I were to start a bar fight with some guy, I wouldn't be surprised if he hit me back...I mean, I wouldn't be pleased about it, but he'd be defending himself...which is what I feel Bond is doing when he fights back with a woman..most of whom have had a gun pointed at him while he seems to be disoriented. If he were going around mercilessly beating women who were incapable of defending themselves, then I'd have a problem with it. Heck...I probably wouldn't be a fan in the first place.
I'm pretty sure you need to watch the films over again. He actually fights quite a few women over the years. Roger Moore's Bond was the worst example. Hitting Scaramanga's woman in TMWTGG, twisting her arm around her back. Sheer bullish behaviour to try and make a weak, comic Bond look as tough as Sean Connery. But as with most of RM's performances, he was trying too hard.
Fleming condoned the use of violence towards women in his novels, even the "sweet tang of rape". I think he was wrong on both counts.

Well, I would certainly be surprised!

Well Bond doesn't really go on the offensive, more the defensive. I'd rather Eon avoid completely any fight scenes containing women, personally.
doesn't matter that they're women. defense is defense.
Following the posts here I can see that we've noted that Bond has had a couple scuffs with the ladies, that they are all being defined as moments of defense and we are split on whether or not even defense fights with women are appropriate for the big screen.
I have to say I am not phased much when Bond fights a lady in self-defense (spare for the Tracey slap I reckon...a wee bit much).
With that said, I wouldn't want to see anything like DC's Bond fight in Haiti going on. I don't know if I could handle that sort of action between Bond and a woman.
What do the ladies think?
And, what about other action films...are there any man v. woman fight scenes in other popular films?
