Richard Armitage - Flemingesque

Hopefully DC will continue in his role as Bond, but ive been impressed with Richard Armitage.
Give him a decent haircut and I think he becomes very Flemingesque Bond in looks.

I do agree -he does have a certain Flemingesque litary Bond look to him -but his accent is all wrong -so not sure. Think he is great in both spooks and chris ryan's strike back though. :)

Yes, I agree - I think Armitige is great in Spooks - and he has a slightly 'rough' quality, that Craig has brought to the role - he's a real mix of Brosnan and Craig - I have Strike Back on Sky+, haven't watched it yet, but if my beloved Daniel does go (hopefully not soon) then I won't object to Richard taking over :x

Not sure what you mean by his accent being all wrong? He's got one of those accents that is not from anywhere in particular - although hints of private education - isn't that what Bond should be?

Agree. I would like to see DC complete what he started and deliver 'the finished article ' in 23. However Armitage would be a credible choice in my view. Very Flemingesque and the voice is fine. How old is he? Because if this drags on for a couple of years (which we all hope it does not) he may be out of scope.

Oh I dunno, he seems a bit Basil Rathbone-like to me, I'd rather see him as a villain. The women like him, but ahem (and I can't be sure but I have read it somewhere) I thought he was travelling on the other Aston Martin, as it were.

born in 1971 - so will be 39 this year.... too old? Well if Craig gives us another movie - lets say a 4 year gap..... he'll be 43 - Daniel was 39 when he took over, so perhaps a bit to old to start....

As for being gay? I don't think so, one of my trashy magazines had an interview with a TV actress, and I'm sure she said she was dating him..... can't remember who it was though....they were talking about the tatoo on his back that he has to have painted on for 'Spooks'.

I thought Armitage would have been a far more suitable Robin Hood than the student they cast in the recent TV series. I find him a bit dull though in Spooks compared to Matthew MacFadyen and posh boy Rupert Penry-Jones.

    Agree completely.
Always thought Rupert would have made a good Bond after seeing him in 39 Steps as well as spooks and he would be perfect as Simon Templar if ever someone remade The Saint.

I can see that, maybe he'll be the next Bond.

A bit late now I think he is nearly 40 and I think they will go with a younger actor for Bond7 imho Henry Cavill or Clive Standon.
I think Henry is basically Bond in waiting.
