Hello all,
Has anyone heard anything about the nine remaining films that are awaiting a Blu Ray release?
I hope that MGM's money problems are not holding up their being released to retail.

Despite MGM's ongoing woes, their movies are being released by multiple sources. Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Western trilogy is coming out during the summer and the sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet is being released via Warner Bros. in September.
So hopefully the remaining Bond movies will not remain in limbo forever.

I agree that with a new QOS DVD on the way, it looks likely that the other nine films have a good chance of being released as well.

2. Irony.
3. Lists.
Wait a sec... There's a new QoS edition coming? DETAILS, please! I haven't seen anything anywhere!
Alas things have become murky on this title as well. MGM Home Entertainment was to release Quantum of Solace: The Definitive Edition on July 28. Unfortunately while several sites including highdefdigest.com still list the title, other sources say it has been canceled or at best indefinitely shelved and there is no longer any trace of it at amazon.com.
I'm doubly PO'd because I sold my standard def Bond DVDs after the first batch of Bond BluRays was released as I foolishly believed the remainder would be released in short order. As of right now there is no info on this or any other Bond BluRay. Hopefully once the who MGM mess is cleared up the BluRays will begin to flow again.
I'm getting a Blu-Ray player next week. Would someone please be kind enough to tell me if the extras on the Bond discs are the same as on the Ultimate DVD, or are there 'extra' extras? Also HMV is selling the discs, apart from CR special edition and QOS, for £6.00 each including delivery. I'm wondering if they are shifting stock to accommodate a forthcoming Ultimate Edition, or something along those lines. If anyone has heard of any such plans I would appreciate the tip-off. I have already bought the bond films three times (VHS, Speciial Edition DVD, Ultimate Edition DVD), and don't really fancy shelling out again for two sets of Blu-Ray editions.
Many thanks
The Connery/Moore/Dalton/Brosnan movies that are available on BluRay have the exact same extras as the Ultimate Edition features so the only reason for picking them up would be the improved picture and sound quality that BluRay will provide if you have a hi-def TV and good surround sound system to take advantage of it.
I've not heard anything at all for months about the release of the remaining movies or any re-release of the ones already available. Don't know if its tied into the MGM woes but no one seems to be stepping forward to release the remaining movies on BluRay and even the all but confirmed QoS Special Edition BluRay appears to have been cancelled.
I'm fairly certain that the reason the price on the BluRays is so low is because they have been available for well over a year now; they've simply reached the point in their shelf-life where they can be discounted because anyone who would have bought them at full price probably already has done so by now.
