No, I ordered the SE in the first minutes of the preorder. Actually it was in the first 30 secs.

Got my SE edition today and hate to say it but it's nowhere near as good as the SD version. although they have clearly improved some of SD's faults, the weight, feel, quality and finish are all very poor in comparison.

All that said, I am still glad that someone like Factory Entertainment is out there trying to deliver a product that is very difficult to bring to the market because the James Bond franchise is nowhere near as big as say, Star Wars.

The best thing about the fact. ent Vs the SD one is......

    1. The lighter - opens at the back to put the bullet in. The SD doesn't open at all

The things I prefer about the SD one over the factory ent one is.....

    1. It's heavier
    2. Quality of the product and the SD display box are stunning compared to the perspex Fac ent one
    3. The display sign - looks quality albeit nearly 20 years old. I don't really like the Fact ent one. Looks a bit cheap although it has 2 great signatures on it.
    4. No naff safety red plug at the end of a pen!!!
    5. the little fake ruby in the SD version looks OK but the fact ent just looks cheap
    6. The thing I like best about the SD stuff was you look at it today and think how could they make any profit from an item made as well as this. No cut corners or cheap parts. Just quality through and through!

Out of 10 I would give SD 8 out of 10 and Factory Ent about 5 out of 10......

I did also get the Jaws teeth and they were very good. Hard to improve on these although the display case and plaque would look OK on a star wars prop but not on a heritage prop from a classic film!

Honest and spot on. I do so hope SD reads these threads.

I just think SD Studios was set up for serious collectors and fans. the products were respectfully and tastefully created for full effect and nothing seemed to be compromised!

Not sure if Factory Ent has got it right. They seem to have come from watching master replicas recreate all the Star wars props and it worked pretty well for them, but I'm just not a big fan of pespex display cases and plastic stands. Certainly not for James Bond.

I just wonder what will be said about these examples in 20 years!

ps. I would now love to see Fact. Ent do an Attache case. Judging by this The knives would be red plastic and the gold sovereigns would be made from chocolate money you get at Xmas. Something for the kids to enjoy I guess:D!

    Hi everyone,

To all Canadian buyers or future buyers... Yes I've got mine on Monday... I didnt have the necessary time to write here...

However I am not totally satisfied... I never owned a SD version or any other GG replica, but:

1- The carton box wasnt at all in a good shape... and when you pay a lot of money for a replica ... you expect it to be better wrapped than this...

2- The trigger (cufflink) doesnt screw very well...

3- The opened part of the lighter doesnt hold very well and when you hold the gun it opens very often

4- Yes the general shape and color is nice... but I received mine with little marks on...

5- Even if we were aware how the presentation box would be ... A box like on the SD one or like a suitecase would have been better than the cheap one comming with the Factory Ent one..

I am not an expert of GG or other replica... I just ordered this one because I found the idea of the GG great... but over all I would give 7 out of 10.

I am pretty sure it would hold its value...but nothing like an SD or nothing like we could imagine.

I am not sure if I would buy the gun again if I had to repeat the experience ... because I think for this kind of price (hey as far as Im concerned we still in a middle of an economic crisis) we have the right to get something, at least a bit, better....

    That's my opinion guys...

Totally support everything you wrote. Just to cheer you up though. My box was damaged too, the gun didn't fit together well , it also had marks on it, and the lighter flap doesn't hold well either! Houston we have a problem!!!

:)) I just found out that I have one of these waiting for me as a Christmas prezzie.

The other half saw my post last night and this afternoon asked if I got one for free would I keep it. I immediately twigged and asked if she had. She actually hadn't but helped my mother get it for me from Play. In all seriousness, I've asked her to return it for a refund. There's no way I'd display it anywhere, and I honestly think it's expensive tat. I'd rather the money went for some outdoors gear I'll use rather than this. I really cannot see this item increasing in value, and I predict a load of them on Ebay at greatly reduced prices especially the LE as most will be torn between the signatures and gun compromise. The only good thing about it is the signed plaque, and I can't justify the price for the awful gun you get with it. If it was the LE version, you don't even get that :#

I'd rather have SGGs version that he revealed last New Years. Yeah, you heard me :o

Not liking what im hearing. Guys can it really be that bad? Im getting a LE edition purely because that was enough to pay i didn't want to pay that extra for a signature editon that im not that bothered about, just get a print out! Whos gonna know the differnece! Can't get a print out of a 3-d prop unless you got one of those high end 3-d printers of course!! brb

Hey guys, shouldn't we regroup to write to Factory ent. because as far as I am concerned there is a lot of people not satisfied here of there replicas... I know it not gonna pay off... but at least they would know our unsatisfaction...

Also don't you think we should ask Factory Ent to build a special edition suitecase (aluminium or anything) with special features for ourGG, because there case looks so cheap... anyway, if anyone shares the same opinion than me please tell me ...

FE, if you wanted to success - you should have asked fans what they want ...

    Hi All

I'm still awaiting my SE GG so am reading this thread with interest. It is obvious that the product is not matching the hype but my concerns are with what FE are going to do about it. Are they going to continue sending out this product or stop and reassess there QA? If they continue to send then out then I think that says alot about the company. If they choose to stop despatches and try and deal with the mentioned problems then I think they should be given some understanding. I hope they don't 'Publish and be dammed!' as this will stop any future collecter trusting them. As a side note the feedback from FE on this forum is commendable so I thank them for that.

    Just my thoughts

Well said Steve. I think they should address concerns first and halt delivery.
I'm now a little apprehensive about my LE (didn't need the SE as have lots of autographs from RM and CL) but a little excited too. Started to see a few SD guns turn up on Ebay in recent months as i guess sellers were worried about their's becoming devalued. Jusing from the comments here so far, the SD guns are likely to now increase in value.

I'm still awaiting my confirmation of order and delivery email so I will keep watching comments until that arrives. However, I'm almost leaningh towards cancelling my order altogether - something I never wanted to do as it was my 40th birthday present to myself and a prop I've always wanted.

    I am confused :#

I'm pretty happy with my gun. There is one dull spot on the cigarette case / gun handle that doesn't shine like the rest in a certain light, but I can live with it. My main concern is that when the gun is fully assembled and everything tightened up, there is a rattling sound when I move or lightly shake the gun. I took it back apart and it is the lighter section on the gun. It sounds like a small piece of metal rattling around inside it. I know it's not the slide out section because I extended it and held it so it wouldn't move. Again this is a small concern because I'm not going to be picking it up and shaking it.

Anyone else notice the same thing. I want to make sure it is just mine before I contact FE.

They say that if you're not happy they'll refund you.

I suggest you simply don't accept it from Royal Mail (especially if there is 100$ duties) and it will get back to them, but they might charge you for the shipping back.

My concern if I return it for refund is 2 way UK/US shipping @ $140 or £100 plus UK Customs duty @ £100 which I doubt very much they will refund? I've now sent 3 emails without reply in fact the only reply I have received was on the AJB listing "ppw please contact us" when I already had without reply. It is clear that the wait was not worth it. The "we will not release this product until it is perfect or similar" is sticking in the throat as we were all quite happy to wait for a replica we can all be proud of and I include FE themselves in that statement. It is very clear that quality wise this product was not ready for release and should have been delayed further. "we must get them into the shops for Christmas" comes to mind. FE should recall them all much like Master Replicas did with their faulty Star Wars Clonetrooper helmets which also had manufacturing problems with the Chinese factory. The wait was long but eventually a quality replacement product was shipped to customers & don't forget that is what we all are "CUSTOMERS!"

Well said there mate. Also I felt that FE suddenly rushed these products to customers just like "we must get these to customers - no matter what the quality is"
I think they should have been honest with the customers and let us know that they need more time to finish the product.
But i guess pressure was too damn high, e-mail boxes crammed of notes from pissed off customers asking "when you will release the bloody item".... And please FE, no more those bloody "Spectre agent - jokes" "Maybe it was Spectre agent who delivered these too soon...." ha ha ha

Your Quality Assurance is out of date and if it continues that way - i'm quite sure you're soon out of the market.

I would also like to know how FE's refund program really works.

After reading about all this what has been said for the past week or so, I am 'glad' to have had this feedback. If there is anything I hate more than anything else, its being disappointed. I haven't received my GG yet. So I will now consider the FE GG as a VERY expensive price to pay for 2 signatures. Anything I like over and above that with the gun itself, will be a bonus cherry on the cake :) My GG's would be exactly where I want it to be, an SD Studios 2nd Gen, and 2 iconic signatures linked to the famed Golden Gun. :) Stiff upper lip & positive thinking fellows :))

no doubt a golden gun is on the cards, but to be honest, it's been done so many times now, for me its kinda lost the wow factor.

maybe i could work something extra special into it somehow, but first, I gotta get some more important things done.

    Hi there,

For those who sent emails to FactoryEnt and still not got any answer, I have received this from Tom Vargas:

    "Hi Ghassan,

We’re sorry you’re not satisfied with the piece. If you don’t like it, please have it returned for a refund and see our return policy here:

    http://www.factoryentstore.com/help_answer.asp?ID=13#144

    Thank you,

    Tom Vargas

Is there anyone who really want to get a refund?

"If you don't like it...." wtf ... sounds like a talk of crappy pizzeria owner geeezzz

Quite a bit of talk about a Generation 2 coming down the line.

Can someone at FE confirm if this is the plans?

I will be pretty pissed if so because I don't want to own something which will eventually be improved upon.

I hated the fact that SD Studios did that - left a very sour taste and was more than happy to sell mine off as a result.

If FE do plan to release a second gen then I am cancelling my order now!
