Question about Octopussy

What do you think happened to Mischka when the cannon barrel hit him on the head?

I suppose most people just take it for granted that he died, but do any of you think that possibly he was only rendered unconscious? It didn't look like the cannon hit him hard enough to kill him and I have no problem with Roger's 007 actually being satisfied with that as adequate revenge for 009, although he did obviously terminate Grischka. Other Bonds like Pierce Brosnan in particular of course would have finished him off before dressing in his clothes naturally.

Imagine how much a cannon weighs. . .what looks like a simple "bonk" could be fatal indeed. At any rate, this isn't a question that would keep me up nights. . .

True. I wouldn't really lose sleep over it either. I just came across somebody making this comment on another site and thought it might make an interesting topic to discuss. Either way you take it, it doesn't matter to the story of the movie and I think the way Bond dispatches both Mischka and subsequently his brother Grischka are two of my favourite 007 moments in the whole series.
