Bond 23 car

whiteknight86whiteknight86 MexicoPosts: 43MI6 Agent
Hi everyone, we haven´t start to figure what car is bond to drive on the next film, whenever is going to be released. I found this spoof a couple of days ago reading about this new cygnet by Aston Martin is launching to the market. Just imagine Bond driving this on a car chace.

I seriously woud like bond to have an aston martin 0ne-77 or something like this Gauntlet concept model, both attached below. You can continue this post with your wishes of the next bond car.

I kind of agree about the Golf.

An unusual suggestion would be the new Bentley Mulsanne, back to the roots, to Fleming's Bond and his first car.
Not sure if that would work well on the big screen of today though.

It is elegant but also bulky.

Well he did have a Ford Mondeo in Casino Royale, which I think in fairness, is a little more basic than a Golf. 8-)

Maybe a Ford Kuga for some arrival scene:

    fordkuga.jpg

And the Aston Martin V12 Vantage for some chase scenes:

A Vantage is a great idea I think.

I was saying to my mrs the other day that they could have used a V8 Vantage in CR/QoS instead of a DBS. You have to be pretty wealthy or in debt to have either car regardless but a '05 Vantage will cost around 35k whereas a DBS is 90k plus.

And I wonder how many 911 owners may have been swayed towards a Vantage instead of a 911 because of the Bond factor?

I'd love to see Bond back in a Bentley, but I'm not sure if Mulsanne is the right car. Perhaps a Continental GT Speed would be more to his style?

The DBS or V12 Vantage are perfect - as is the Bentley Continental GT Speed. Let's face it, the Aston One-77 at over £1.2m is a bit unrealistic (as are all new Astons etc). Personally I quite like Bond in his own classic DB5 like Brosnan in GE and TND, and Craig has already been set up with one in CR. He gambles, he's won it - on a civil servant salary, he'd never buy one himself - and it's the car most people associate with Bond.
But one thing's for sure - I don't want to see Bond in a humdrum car like the Mondeo, unless it's been made clear that he's hired it at the airport or something.

I just don't see Bond in a saloon. The 7 series BMW was bad enough in TND. Yes, the Rapide is expensive - but desirable? No. I just don't see the point. A four door M3 is for the man who needs more space than the M3 coupe, but an Aston? Like the Porsche Panamera, I just don't get the four door faux coupe thing. No, I'd prefer the DBS or Vantage, and have Bond in a thrustingly single-man's coupe... ;)

Since we are going to be waiting for at least a year before production on Bond 23 and we don't know where filming will be located, I figured I would make a suggestion. Just in case they decide on having a fair bit of the film located in the United States, how about having James Bond drive one of the new Ford Mustangs? It could be issued to him as part of his cover, or perhaps be one he borrows from someone while on assignment. Diamonds Are Forever comes to mind. Of course, Ian Fleming would have thought using a Ford in the U.S. would be fine, since Bond was driving a T-Bird (which had a puncture) in the novel The Spy Who Loved Me. This assumes that the Bond franchise still attracts product placement money from Ford.

I quite like the idea of a loud muscle car, the new Camaro or a Shelby Mustang - but only if set in America. Outside the states they just seem crass. Perhaps Bond could steal one from a showroom in pursuit like in TMWTGG.

A Bentley would be cool... B-) But I'm all for Bond in a new Camaro (as a 'pick-up') in #23 if 007 is, in fact, in New York :D A Mustang is probably more likely, though, given recent product placement trends.

Of course, they can't go wrong if we get another glimpse of his DB5 B-)

Let Bond keep the DBS and not tear it apart this time around. Have a few scenes like in Thunderball.

Craig has wrecked two Aston Martin DBS in a row... I say give the man a third DBS...
