Walther P99

Hi apologies to all for my vague question but I am looking for something and thought joining the forum for some advice would be my best best. I understand Walther brought out a special edition of the P99 for James Bond and that obtaining one is a quite difficult and expensive affair. I am looking for one to buy and would wecome any advice on prices / availability / whether there are fakes around etc etc. kind regards, Mark Rothwell

Walther made an "Mi6 - Limited edition" P99, it was supposed to be a run of about 1,000 pistols. They had serial numbers that had either 007 or JB as a prefix (suffix). Not sure if they completed the whole run due to copyright problems.

Your best bet would be a search on the gun sales forums. As you know they will be few and far between and expensive.

The p99 was heavily faked full stop. Chinese and Czech copies flooded the market, jammed and were awfully inaccurate. The Smith & Wesson machined weapons were not as good as the original Walthers either. As for the MI6, well, they are scarce and because of Britain's pistol ban, went almost entirely to the states. Good luck getting hold of one...
