Received my copy today. I was home at the time, when postman tried to push that quite large envelope through our main door.
I ran at the door and opened it, but i was too late. That nutjob postman managed to push that envelope through the mailbox and i almost kicked him in the head!!! X-( I asked, what the F**K you think you're doing??!! Postman answered, "I thought it would fit through your mailbox, and it did, hope it didn't get any damage." - he continued. The envelope was in u-shape and looked like it's came through a damn shredder :# So number #282 of 500 is ruined... :#

I was so mad....where's the garrotte watch when you need one :v

Width of our mailbox is 28,5cm (height 6,5cm) which is standard and the width of the strong carton envelope is 32,5cm
so you can see the difference with bare eye from miles away...grrrr

Teppo, can you not complain to the postal service and get them to pay for a new one? That is just out of order! Is it damaged beyond redemption?
  • YouknowthenameYouknowthename Carver Media GroupPosts: 501MI6 Agent
Very sorry to hear that Teppo !
It's a collector's worst nightmare: the postal services damaging your parcel due to ignorance. Unfortunately most mailmen work the same way: if it doesn't move simply push harder.
If you're parcel is not insured, they'll "have a talk with the mailman" but you're usually left empty handed.

    Here's the ruined one

    FQB282Ruined.jpg

I made an reclamation to Finnish postal service. They have certain rules and if the parcel is not insured, they still have responsibility to make reimbursement if customer can prove, that they've made mistake.
In this case their own insurance policy covers up to 50 euros. (as it's letter size)
In case it would have been insured, they would make reimbursement up to 340 euros.

The letter was so heavily packed, i just can't get it why the mailman pushed this letter through the mail slot,
when he also had two other larger parcels for me at the same time. That will remain mystery to me :s

Also contacted FE if they happen to have any of these fine prints left, haven't got response yet.

Cheers for the support guys -{ It's only a piece of paper....BUT VERY NICE PIECE ;)

    Hi Teppo,

Tom advised me of the situation with your print and I noticed this post... then I saw the picture ARGHHH! Its literally been mutilated. I am stunned. As you mention all the prints are shipped in very thick specially designed board backed envelopes to protect them, and they should be more than enough . In this case I think its fair to say that your postman was just being a total idiot. (or perhaps a SPECTRE agent) he literally destroyed it! It looks like it he fed it to a Rottweiler first. If there is anything we can do to help you in trying to get some compensation from the Finnish Postal services please let us know

Tom and I are so sorry that we have sold out of the SDCC print and cannot supply you with a replacement. But we feel very bad for you. Your print is literally garbage now. So we are going to send you something else, something special. Its not 100% the same, but is very similar and is 430x rarer than the SDCC print :-)

Tom will be in touch with details, and to ask you how we write 'Fragile, do not bend, fold mangle or generally destroy you moron' in Finnish ( well perhaps something not quite so inflammatory but you get the idea) on the packaging :-) maybe that will help. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the replacement one makes it OK

Absolutely.... if you send us a picture (and post it here) of you with the cat which must be a fluffy white one, sitting in a suitably high backed villain chair dressed as #1 (eye scar and bald head optional but extra credit for authenticity)

    :)):)):))

Actually in all seriousness... how about a game open to all AJB members? I shall discuss with the moderators first.

I received my print & it is excellent. Thanks for making these available for those of us who didn't make it to Comic-Con.

Teppo, sorry to see that postal disaster. I tip my hat to FE for trying to ease the pain given the situation. :)
