No. He already announced his retirement after A View To A Kill was released.

I like all the what if's about bond like what if dalton did goldeneye? That would have been great. There was also talk in the late 90s when sony were planning to remake thunderball that sean connery would return as bond at the age of 68, i would love to have seen this happen.

The working title for that proposed remake of thunderball was warhead 2000. Think it was mentioned around the time the Rock was made. would have been interesting for sure.

Some websites cite it as "Warhead 2000 AD" and reading further into press articles, Connery would most likely played a villian and Timothy Dalton would have been cast as Bond. I think we were all spared much suffering. Also McClory's claims in deperation to get this film started was hilarous. He claimed he created the cinematic Bond and demanded a large portion of the $3 Billion dollars the series had generated thus far.

Mind you, I think I heard somewhere that the film was written with him in mind in case he could be tempted back for one more film.

That is just a rumor since people felt The Living Daylights reflected somewhat of the light hearted nature of Moore's films. Sir Rog already said he was getting too old and he had enough; He had felt that way since For Your Eyes Only and James Brolin was awfully close to becoming Bond in 1983 because Roger was holding out at the time.
