Now that would really suck.
Well 007 has already fought vampires in one of the Express/graphic story "The League of Vampires"

.... You never know.
The Bourne series is teriffic I really enjoy them, But I find they're small in scale like watching a TV Series like CSI,They don't have the scope of a Bond.Although even the Bond's now seem to be down sizeing, And in part I do agree with you that some of the Later Bonds have slow sections that with a bit of better writing could of moved along alot faster.CR is a case in point as I'd of cut it by about twenty minutes. I'll not mention the Bond that dare not speak its name. But IMHO it has the same problems weak script,But might of been helpted by some extra dialogue scenes.
I feel that the main problem is that like it or not to some extent Bond is an anachrocism. Eon have been struggling with how to 'make Bond relevant' ever since GE and probably before (that could be another debate in itself). The tension being articulated is the need to preserve the esscence of the character but modernise him and the world he operates in at the same time. In some senses it's proving difficult not to 'throw the baby out with the Bathwater'. The current interpretation has much to commend it remains very much 'work in progress '. I to was frustrated by what I felt was a diversion from the emergent narrative of giving us Craig's fully formed Bond as promised in all the hoop-la that surrounded CR at the time.
What Bourne has, that Bond does not, is a tight tryptich of a narrative which in itself has painted Bourne into a corner. If the Bourne series were to continue it would run into problems of its own in how to maintain momentum.
That said, the quality of scripts in recent years has been poor with the exception of CR and the first half of DAD. I'm pretty sure that better scripts for Bond are possible. In fairness we will never know to what extent QOS suffered as a result of the writers strike. As previously posted I'm not a major fan of Wilson and Brocolli and would not mind at all if the recent haitus ended their tenure after Bond 23 (I doubt very much if they wil be ousted though, so we shall have to put up with more of those irritating cameos.
And I too find those cameos irritating, mabey if more time had been spent checking the daily rushes rather than finding a spot for a screen apperance .......... well enough said.
You say that for the Roger Moore era as well.
It today's world mother dominated metro-sexuals who want to pretend to be men and whine about the awful world outside, yes sadly it's the case.
Generally speaking of the last decent Bond script, it was The Living Daylights by far. Every Bond since then has taken the generic action film route and with rise video games, Brosnan's last two films felt as much.
No. I'm a big Moore fan, if the mood takes me (call me fickle, but to watch Moore I need to be in a good humoured, nostalgic mood). I am not a fan of Moonraker though. My favourite novel, and my least favourite film.

I enjoy Moore's tenure as well but they all of them tended to waste time simply for the purpose of globe hopping.
